Would any of the fine folks here at the happy-jack's forum be interested in playing a short campaign of Numenera ? I want to start something off after new year and go on for about 2~3 months (possibly further but it depends on my schedule).
I'm living on GMT time, which I guess might be a bit of a drawback due to the community being somewhat US-based... still, I shall take my chances. If you are unfamiliar with Numenera/the_9th_World I shall have no problem providing you with guidance and game materials (i.e. books, characters sheets, what have you)

well, i do have the Cypher System Core Rule Book, which does have the Same general Material, but with the Setting Specifics Removed and updates to the 3, i mean 4 character archetypes. is that fine?

Cypher System is a bit different from Numenera, in the sense that it's not setting specific and as such characters are allowed to be a bit more flexible in order to better suit whatever setting the group decided to play in. Not that Numenera is very "setting specific", I mean, the 9th World can be viewed as a Science fiction setting, Post-apoc setting, medieval/ancient fantasy setting... depending on the group playing in it. With Cypher system you could probably adapt it in such a way that you can play in say Middle earth or 2nd/1st WW or Ancient Egypt or w/e float your boat.
So basically Numenera is the system that makes game flow in a specific setting, called the 9th World, to which one can add a lot of "flavor" while the Cypher system can make games flow in most "fantastical" settings. So yeah, not much difference between the two.
I would prefer if everyone would use the character-creation rules from either the Cypher System books or Numenera simply because of "mechanical" reasons, they could mash-together but it would be the same as trying mash a 1st ed AD&D char with a party of 2nd ed AD&D characters... they're kind of the same but there are various small annoying changes which would just get the group confused.

i would probably personally use the Cypher Book. i mean, i do have the original Numenara PDF too. but Cypher allows more Customization.
i am Considering the Fact that Cypher has guidelines for making your own descriptors and allows you to take equivalent tier abilities from other character types to customize your character, which does look fairly sweet
i generally build characters that have training in lots of skills but have few overall active abilities

i mean, some of the really powerful tier abilities from Numenara got pushed up a bit in Cypher. for example, Flex Skill, a Tier 1 Jack Ability, is a tier 3 Skills and Knowledge Flavor Ability that i beleive, can be accessed by a wider variety of characters. because Flex Skill was overpowered in Numenara.

I'm interested. I live in Germany, so I think we wouldn't have an issue with time. I've played in two other Numenera games with eventually died out on Roll20. I have the core rule-book, the player options, and the cypher book. If you would like me to create a character, I can make one up, and send it your way. If there is any setting specific content, I can always incorporate that into a Backstory as well. Let me know if you're interested.

I mean, if you want to, you can certainly send a character my way, but that might be overdoing it considering that 2-4 peoplen that are able to play, want the same kind of game and can play in the same timeslot need to be found before a game to happen. Rather than that maybe just send me a Skype ID(Or G plus, but I'm likely going to end up using Skype simply because I hate the whole social-media-y thing around G+) so we can chat for like 10-15 minutes about the game, see if our ideas about playing Numenera in a joyful manner gel together, that kind of thing.

Hello! I'm definitely curious about Numenera, although time zones may an issue - I'm GMT+10, so I'll be getting up pretty early in the morning if you want to run an evening game.
