D.T. Pints - with HoA being euthanised the community will have make a choice. Continue with private hangouts only, so only pre-recorded streams will exist or shift to YouTube Live or another service? If another service is used would the G+ page remain relevant. Not only that do other services support Roll20? Roll20 has been rolling out (DYSWIDT) it's own video streaming support, is it up to scratch? Aaron

Yeah I've been thinking about that...the main reason to stay connected with G+ convoluted page has been the direct connect to Hangouts and Hangouts on Air. I wonder how well G+ will connect with YouTube Live? I've often thought that a major reason to have public releases of Jackercon games is to just grow the hobby and build the community that Stu Venable has created. Jackercon games are typically like no other RPGs I see getting broadcast on twitch and elsewhere...I think they are something worth showing off. Roll20 might be the way to go. Two months until Jackercon XI to figure it out.

Somewhat related: Has anyone looked at Imzy as a social media platform? I got on through a friend, and it's basically a G+ / Facebook, but without ads due to a Patreon-style donate-as-you-see-fit or one-off for communities you like. Or something like that.
It's still very new. The chat functionality with other users doesn't work yet, just between users and the admins, but that appears to be very temporary. Also it is invite only as they are rolling out to avoid explosion.
A few RPG forums have already sprouted up and are doing their thing. It's all very early days, but if G+ implodes, it might be a nice alternative to Facebook for community preservation.
All very, "we'll see..."

It seems to me that Hangouts On Air might still work. Does the HOA beta on Youtube generate a video? Can it be shared? I honestly haven't tried it yet (I've been using the scheduled show function, which doesn't use the HOA encoder -- it uses third party encoders instead).

The main attraction of Hangouts on Air is that it generates a Youtube video. As I understand it, plain old Hangouts is staying, no? So the only added issue is that if you want a Youtube video when you're done, you need to run an encoder while you're DMing.

We should get a website organised - front page general guff with a members only area for game scheduling and a virtual poster/bulletin board for game announcements. Aaron

Fantasy Grounds is a fine product, and great for a group that has drifted apart geographically.
For running a convention? Not even a little bit.
You want a free or freemium platform for that. So, Hangouts were great, because they were free. Roll20 is great, again because free, with the option, if you want to go that extra mile, to upgrade.
