Just saw this, and really enjoyed it. I can't wait for another season! The friend who recommended it to me described it as the Xena: Warrior Princess approach applied to Journey to the West. The production values are actually higher than I would have expected. It gets off to a bit of a slow start, though--they don't get the whole cast together until episode 3 or 4. I think the guy cast as Monkey is great. My favorite bit is during the flashback when the gods ask him to bring out the bloom in a flower, and he accidentally tears it apart. His "I-meant-to-do-that" expression is recognizable to anyone who's ever owned a cat.

The new seasons of American Ninja Warrior, Face Off, and Battlebots will keep me busy for a while.
I'm almost all the way through Altered Carbon. I'm digging that one. I haven't started season two of West World yet, but that'll be a binge watch once I start it.
And I'm halfway through season 2 of The Expanse. I'm very happy to hear that Amazon picked it up after it was cancelled.

Cloak and Dagger The first two eps were good. They switched up some stuff from the comics and I think it works for the show. Looking forward to more episodes.

Cloak and Dagger The first two eps were good. They switched up some stuff from the comics and I think it works for the show. Looking forward to more episodes. I watched the first episode and thought it was crap. Not enough dialogue, too many montages with soft rock songs. It doesn’t know it it wants to be “street” or aspirational, and falls awkwardly between those two stools. It didn’t have the hard edge or authenticity of Luke Cage. Even Black Lightning was better. But i will try the second episode, see if it improves.

Just watched ep 5 of Cloak and Dagger. It's a slow burn... I'm loving the character development. I think the girlfriend is a villain based on nothing but my "gut" feelings.

Watched Iron Fist season 2
Not as bad as season 1 is perhaps the best compliment I can give it. Also, shorter.
