At the risk of waking my old and largely resolved thread from torpor, I have some lingering questions about Vicissitude. Specifically, I am wondering: Is it always and without exception painful for the user's "patients," and can it be used to heal? sovereigncitizenkane (and thanks again for offering to hunt down this info; I'm just opening up the floor to others), I know you've been saying that Vicissitude is necessarily and consistently painful to patients/victims. This makes sense - the user is physically molding flesh and bone as if sculpting clay. However, the most I can find in any of the lore books about that is the fact that Bonecrafting without Fleshcrafting will cause injury. As for Vicissitude's potential for healing, I also just read an Onyx Path forum thread saying that according to VTDA20, while Vicissitude can stanch bloodflow, it cannot heal trauma. Alternatively, I found an article devoted precisely to Vicissitude's medical uses, albeit specifically about its applications for Sabbat battlefield medicine: vtm.kismetrose.com/sc/disciplines/Disciplines38.html. So while the official answer seems to be "it can heal situationally, but its applications are limited," there also still seems to be room for debate. All thoughts are welcome.

So I ended up not getting to do a huge amount of research time as I had a bit of a crisis over the weekend. More than one actually but from most of what I looked through, I could not find about the pain. It definitely seems to be mentally warping, but I couldn't find more than it being used for torture to cause massive amounts of trauma and pain, but it may actually be optional.
I really wish I could find where I had seen that because I'd been operating under that assumption forever.

I'm so sorry to hear about the stress of your weekend! I appreciate you looking into this in the free time you have. Take care of yourself and yours first. I'd love to see links and/or the titles of useful books and/or page numbers for what you've found, when you have a moment. But not a second before then!

Thanks for the well wishes. I ended up getting everything I needed to get done, finished. A lot of weekend work for case briefs that had to be ready for court on Monday and Tuesday. Plus I have a psychotic neighbor but the police straightened her out so, all's well that ends well.

I'm glad, man Good riddance to the work backlog! And, hopefully, good riddance also to further harassment from your neighbor. Here's to the bulk of your stress being far from home. *raises glass*
