Hi all,
Just doing a little thinking/possible game prep (though I never actually expect to run it), and I had a question for all those out there who have more experience with Call of Cthulhu than I (my experience consisting of what They have said on the show and a few actual plays).
From what I have heard, I have inferred that CoC would be great for running a Berserk game; as long as the players were regular people. But how would/could you build a PC similar to the main character of the anime, Guts? For those of you who do not know, Guts is a crazy strong character who can somehow wield a sword that weighs around 400lbs. Now, the sword is special as well, as it seems to become better at killing supernatural things the more of them it kills, though this is implied that it is the supernatural blood soaking into it that cause that.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I have no experience in running CoC but can't you use a monster as a base for a high power character?

I can assure you the game is not the one you want to use. Yes, we adapted it (it's based on Runequest, like Stormbringer, so you can have blood-drinking swords and siz 21 characters with a bit of fettling) but it wasn't as much fun as we thought it would be. CoC work ps best as a game of mortals vs things they can not understand, let alone kill.

The main reason I was thinking about CoC was, I really like the sanity mechanic, and it seems like it would adapt really well to what we see happen to people in the anime who loose their mind. I guess if I end up running it, I will probably use GURPS. Or something...
