Walton reaches over and turns off his digital recorder. He leans back in his desk chair and sighs. Before turning to his keyboard.
Well, its been a crazy week or so. First the chem lab was destroyed, then that whole sludge thing happened, homecoming went from awesome to horrific in just a few minutes, I realized that some of the best people I know are superheroes, and that my best friend for as long as I can remember really likes me. Like... likes me likes me. My heart was broken, and now its full again. I won't try to understand how love works. I'm a man of science and science can't explain love. Love doesn't work by normal rules. It messes with you and really screws with everything you know as truth.
I'm going to retire my new Twitter account I think. I don't think anyone needs the Halcyon Truther anymore. The world has accepted the JustUs4 as real true heroes, because they showed them that they are. Nothing I can do can make that point any plainer than they did against those jaegers downtown today. My world is completely different now. The girl I always loved is now dating another guy and while that will always leave a hole in my heart, I can move on. I have a girlfriend now I guess, so there's that. I've certainly got a lot more going on in my life than just the Science Olympiad, that's for sure. I probably won't update this very often anymore. I think I have better things to do than write about my life, I think I'm going to go live it.
He closes the laptop, picks up the digital recorder just as a horn honks outside. Heading down the stairs, he pauses by Zeke's door and tucks a letter into the doorjamb. When he gets downstairs, Amanda is waiting for him in her car.
"You ready?" She asks with a blush and a smile.
"Sure, but can we make a stop first? I have something I need to deliver." He gets in and they drive off. After a while they enter an open gate in front of a place called Peters Manor, at least thats what the gate says. Amanda drives around the circular drive and stops in front of a massive white house.
"You know someone who lives here?"
"Yeah, he's an old friend. Be right back." Walton goes up the stairs and looks over at the statue of Mr. Clean. He mutters under his breath "You look just like your dad now James." As he nears the door, it opens and a man stands there in a perfect tuxedo and looks at him expectantly. "Uh, hi my name is Walton Jeffries. I have something for Mr. Clean. Can you see that he gets it?"
"But of course sir, it would be my pleasure." The man takes the recorder and gives a stiff bow.
"Thanks." Walton stands awkwardly for a second before going back down to the car.
"Walt? Is that a statue of Mr. Clean?" She asks incredulously.
"Yeah, it is." Walton looks at the statue and thinks.
"So, you know Mr. Clean?!?" She seems really impressed and excited.
"Yeah, sure do." He shakes his head to clear all the thoughts running through it. "So, how about that movie?"
"Ok, I've been looking forward to seeing the new biopic about The Gygaxian. I heard they actually interviewed his partner Arneson for this one. Its supposed to be the most accurate one yet."
