Still, I think it sounds stupid. But, maybe I should try to get over that silly inhibition. Well the system isn't really called that, any more than D&D was called SDCIWC. FASERIP is just an acronym. It was just the Marvel Superheroes game back then. FASERIP has just become an affectionate nickname for a system that otherwise doesn't have one (to my knowledge). Although at about the same time TSR also had a Conan and an Indiana Jones game that, while they didn't have the same stats and worked much differently, did use a color-coded chart to resolve dice rolls. I remember the color coded charts for gamma world or at least a version I didn't like very much.

I had a lot of fun with that game. The chart can be fun. I still have my boxed set, and a few of the splat books.
