Does anyone else here know about the AGE system?
I'm currently running a Dragon Age game, and got in on the Bundle of Holding to pick up the Fantasy Age stuff and Titan's Grave as well.

I played in a short game of Dragon Age. My friend who ran it gave me his 1st box set for the system but I haven't read it yet. I've also watched Wil Wheaton's Ashes of Valkana game. It seems like a pretty good system. I've been meaning to look into it more. I'd love to get the Dragon Age core book at some point. I saw the bundle of holding but I'm more of a physical kind of guy.

I don't really have anything specific to talk about regarding the system. I just figured I should make use of the forum since Stu was nice enough to create it. lol

(rimshot) But seriously folks, I have read (let us rather say "skimmed") through the Fantasy AGE game, and watched Wil Wheaton's Valkhana thing, and I like the feel of the system. The doubles give you stunt points idea is very neat. Haven't actually played it though.

I think the stunt system can take a bit to get used to, but it's a pretty solid system. It's definitely a simpler approach to a more narrative dice system like FFG Star Wars so doesn't have as much nuance, but the stunts aren't bad.
It looks like Green Ronin will be using it for their Expanse RPG, so I'll have to check it out when it releases.

They're also apparently working on Modern AGE. That prompts me to wonder if we're going to see Space AGE (sci-fi) and Steam AGE (for steampunk, of course) in the future? I think it's clever that what started out as the Dragon Age RPG gave them the name of their generic system, the Adventure Game Engine. As I mentioned, I'm running a Dragon Age game, and my groups getting into it. It does sort of help that about half my players are fans of the video game and can help the other players out with setting stuff like history and cultures, etc. Their Blue Rose book is absolutely gorgeous. Even if I never run anything in the setting, I'd like to get the book just because of how pretty it is.

Ah, True20. Man, what a good system that was. Shame GR has decided to abandon it.

I'm rather nostalgic for True20 as well. At the risk of a humblebrag, I did some editing for Green Ronin on their True20 line. My name's in a few of their and Reality Blurs' True20 books. I guess it just didn't take off like they'd hoped. Too bad. It was a great alternative to standard d20 stuff, and a lot easier to homebrew.
Looks like they're throwing their lot in with the AGE system, which I also like.

I’ve run a few sessions of Dragon Age and I really like it. The stunt points are a great addition to play, especially if you use them for non-combat situations as well (like the roleplaying stunts).
The quirk I encountered are that combats tend to take longer than my other games; I recommend using morale checks to ensure some foes will run away if things look grim for them, just so you’re not running each battle to the bitter last hit point.

I really want to play in a game using the AGE system. It just seems like a lot of fun.

If you don't mind PDFs, the AGE Bundle of Holding sale is on for 3 more days... bundleofholding.com/presents/DragonAgeYou get Fantasy AGE, the Fantasy Bestiary, and other goodies, including Dragon Age and Titan's Grave, for $25. That's just less than 1/4 the price if you bought them normally. And proceeds from the sale go to Hurricane Maria relief charities
