i find when i surround myself with similar themes i do best. if i am running fantasy, i read, watch, and think about fantasy. if i watch blade runner, i am now ready to pull out Cyberpunk 2020.
note that i dont go overboard on it (trying to do more than normal), but watching Lord of the Rings (if only they would make a live action Hobbit!) over a week. pulling out Black Company to read again. looking up fantasy art (careful how you search), and maybe pulling out some other fantasy systems i like in order to keep in mood. this helps my creativity - what would it be like to have a dragon fly by a few hundred feet above you? having the sun get blocked, looking up and seeing something a thousand times worse than a tiger or grizzly bear?
lets see. 7 thoughts x 2 cents = 14 cents owed. i will add it to your bill.
also, did the lack of capitalization on eveything but Nouns drive Stu crazy?
cheers,

I mostly lean on psychedelics or disassociatives to distance myself from all realities. The universe is too far afield from where games take place. Your basic intuitions are basaed on basic experience, getting outside of those of that is a point towards understanding of how fantasy is supposed to be.
