Looking for advice on running The Sprawl. I’ve run Urban Shadows before and have listened to a variety of PbtA actual plays.
The setting will be in Sydney, Australia c.2088. Lots of tall buildings, cramped interiors, and a connected urban landscap that encircles the Australian coastlines.
Advice on maintaining a Australian flavor to Cyberpunk as well as how to run The Sprawl would be appreciated and helpful.

I can't say much on Australia, but I would highly recommend picking up a copy of "Augmented Reality". That can really help you flesh out the world on the fly.
Other than that, be sure to add weight to the things your players do.
I.E. If they take down a druglord, the next mission has the complications of the powerhouse they created. Or if they saved a medical clinic, they can expect some help from those people in the next mission.
Things like that give the players choices weight that they have to carry. Plus it reduces the prep you have to come up with on your own.

I'll second he recommendation of Augmented Reality. It's only a few bucks for the PDF and is packed with tables of elements to help spark ideas. 💖
Unfortunately I can'e help at all with the "Australia flavoring".

Not a Sydney sider, but I can try and offer some Ozzie advice. Rule number one. It’s Oz or Ozzie, never “Aus-see” just that pronounciation difference will help a lot. Rule number two. Familiarise yourself with some straya slang and speaking structures. This could help. youtu.be/yDb_WsAt_Z0And then try and extrapolate that to in setting uses. Mega corporations as Corp’s where you pronounce the p. Rule number three. More like a guideline. Sydney right now is very culturally diverse. Yes, there’s some racism that we aren’t (or shouldn’t) be proud of, but that’s a vocal minority. Loud, but not representative. So you can go ahead and describe a person as having Indian or Chinese or Arabic heritage and then give them the most “bogan-tastic” accent you can manage. (Bogan = www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bogan . The stereotypical hard Ozzie accent) My favourite piece of Straya slang at the moment is “Bin Chicken”. It’s simply an ibis. Search bin chicken on YouTube, it’s fun. Here’s a tricky part of Australian idiom. There’s a certain c word that most English speaking countries use exclusively as an insult. The Strayan can use thing to describe his close friends, harmless bystanders or real wastes of oxygen. We can do this with other insults too, but the c word is the most baffling to other cultures. And the only difference is the inflection used to say the word. I’d advise against trying this technique unless the table is full of trust and will not take offence at the words use. But the idea behind it, rubbing your mates (making fun of your friends) is almost enshrined in the strayan way of life. Something to keep in mind. Any questions about specifics, I’m happy to address.

Thanks folks for the advice. I already had a copy of Altered Reality (got while watching the Roll20 Sprawl stream) and had a friend who moved down to Oz make some suggestions as well. Will be sure to write into the podcast with some correspondences from the Metroplex of Australian Territories: East (I apologize for nothing), our sprawl that stretches from Brisbane down to Adelaide.

Bugger. Adelaide? Seriously mate?
Interesting side note, Adelaide is Australia’s city of churches.
And Australia as a whole is sorta sports mad, so East should have a lot of stadium stuff.

Was looking at a map and that looked like a ridiculous spread for the Metroplex to spread. I nearly make the entire coastline a continuous Unrban landscape.
I’ll be dure to keep the sports in mind. Also friend mentioned the Magpies. Will be sure to keep them in mind for a hard move, lol.

Yeah my plan was to pull from a bunch of cultures in South Asia, Africa, etc. Cyberpunk in my mind is a cacophony of different cultures all mashed together with the Corps exploiting everyone. Also one of the things that I love about the PbtA style is that it often will include ethnic and gender variations as options for character generation that players might not think of on their own.
