Right I been off the gaming bandwagon for few months due to personal circumstances (unresolved). But I’m gonna climb back on with an Edge of Empire one shot - inspired in part by the latest Solo movie. Here’s the basic premise I want work on: Basically Les Miserables set before the Age of Rebellion - the Solo movie time period. I don’t want it to be obvious at first that it’s Les Mis bearing in mind most of the players have but a passing knowledge of the source Story. The best portion to lift is obviously during the barricade - which is easily translated as a pre-Rebellion revolt on some planet being put down brutally by the local Imperial forces. Characters will be pre-gens Ideas? Aaron

Ok, so first, no musical interludes ... Wait, who doesn’t love a musical interlude Never mind, that’s just me. I think you’re on a good track, perhaps (as they did in the movie) hint at a protorebellion that perhaps doesn’t even have form yet, but people are getting more and more fed up with the Empire. Also, might want to make them scoundrels to both the empire and the locals to give added tension and conflict. Ideally (to my way of thinking) have them be conflicted about whether to support the empire or the rebellious locals (give them reasons for both) Just a couple of thoughts, JiB

DO YOU HEAR THE REBELS SING SINGING THE SONGS OF TRANDOSHANS IT IS THE MUSIC OF A PEOPLE WHO WANT THE REPUBLIC BACK AGAIN FOR THE REBELS AGAINST THE SITH THERE IS A SONG THAT NEVER DIES A BURNING AND A HUNGER FIGHTING AGAINST THE EMPIRES LIES...
(I could go on...)

I did think that Valjean could be a Force Exile (an Order 66 survivor) which would lead Javert to being, possibly, an Inquisitor. Perhaps, like the Inquisitor from Rebel's, a former jedi/padawan. Cosette would be Valjean's obligation The names would have to be changed Also set it on Ryloth - because, according to canon, native Twilek's appear to affect a French accent Aaron

I don't have much to add about Le Miz, but you may want to plan on something to interfere or delay a naval bombardment. Even though we've seen ground combat in Solo, I don't think there's much stopping the Empire from parking a Star Destroyer over the barricades and blasting everyone to their constituent molecules.

Twi'lek cities of Rhyloth are underground in vast caverns and caves, so that would prevent a naval bombardment. Another reason to select Rhyloth, as well as an already existent freedom movement separate from the Rebellion Aaron
