In my reading and research for Blood, Blade and Tusk, I discovered a very valuable book.
I'm working on other Realms of existence (planes in DnD speak), and I wanted a resource for the Fey, and started searching.
I found a book.
Spirits, Fairies, Leprechauns and Goblins: an Encyclopedia by Carol Rose.
It's an alphabetic encyclopedia of supernatural creatures from many different cultures. Furthermore, there are appendices that give listings my nationality and also by environment.
I've found it very useful. It lists for $25. It's on Amazon for a little less.
It doesn't give a huge amount of detail for most things, but gives you a jumping-off point.

There are three available through LAPL. So other libraries may have it in their system too!

Just got a copy. Excellent stuff for my Loa vs. Fae game.
