I liked the noric history but where exactly is the wall supposed to be stork? Would your characters read other than runes? And where are you from exactly?

When I started thinking about this character I was hoping you and some of our other Scandinavian listeners would chime in with input. The description as it stands is vague on purpose as I am leaving a lot of the details up to Stu because this is his world. Also, Sam and I need to coordinate a bit, but as I see it, we are emissaries sent from Iceland. The thought I had was all the Scandinavian countries fear the Orks foretell Ragnarok, and have withdrawn from most of Europe, building up their military and gathering resources for the upcoming apocalypse, which it turns out never really comes. Iceland, being the furthest colony, and the place the Sagas were written finally sends out Emissary's to find out what the hell is actually gong on. As too what I speak and read, I figure the Skald sent out literate emissary's to observe and record their findings to contribute to the accuracy of the Sagas. So I would speak and read Old Norse and French as is supported by this article Guide to Classics :Icelandic Sagas Which I guess makes Sam and I Skalds as well since we are recording this information. The key paragraph states "As for the Icelanders’ own history, that was the subject of several sub-genres of the saga, including the best-known today, the so-called “sagas of Icelanders” or “family sagas”, as they are often known in English. There were also the so-called “contemporary sagas” that tell of what happened in Icelandic society during the turbulent 13th century – in the middle of which Iceland lost its political independence to Norway – and sagas of bishops and saints. Furthermore, following the Norwegian king Hákon Hákonarson’s introduction of a programme of translating French romances into Norwegian, another type of saga, the sagas of knights, appeared, at first translating foreign romances, later, in Icelandic hands, developing indigenous romance narratives." Hope this gives you some insight to my motivations.

Stu Venable, as a reference for reducing/optimizing your magic system, namely the reduction of Forces, you might want to look at the "Arts and Realms" from Changeling the Dreaming (I'd recommend the 20th anniversary edition due to its comprehensiveness) and the Magical Arts (Techniques and Forms) from Ars Magica.
I could give you a quick rundown here if you don't want to buy whole new books/PDFs just for references.

They seemed bothered by people showing up witch is strange since it was supposed to be a Viking market, they didn't even try to sell things. Very strange people.

So, sort of tangentially related, the UK Games Expo has a Viking encampment set up outside every year. This year an Ork encampment set up alongside them.... www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk/outdoor.php

According to that video, I'm like 3 pounds of leather strips away from being a tv Viking. Well, and I'd have to get more tattoos closer to my head. Rad.
