Howdy jackers,
Been a while since I've been on the boards, or on the Discord server too for that matter, as I haven't felt like I've had much to contribute recently. I've still been tinkering with RPG-related stuff though and wanted to share what I've been doing:
Thanks to the release of the Kill Team game, I've gotten sucked back into Warhammer 40k. So naturally I thought about doing an RPG in that setting, which lead to me looking at the old FFG Deathwatch game. Woof. No way in hell would I ever run that thing. It's got a freaking Pathfinder level of complexity. Game where characters have stat blocks a mile long are very much not to my tastes.
I do like Cortex Prime however, which is the same system jazzisblues is using fro the Gene-X game (though I admit I've only gotten about halfway through the first episode). So, using the Kill Team rules, the 8th Edition Warhammer 40k rules, and the Deathwatch RPG as inspiration, I started making some Adeptus Astartes characters. The results are below.
Cortex Prime Deathwatch Pre-Gens
I ran a short session of the game at the end of last month to try things out. I only had two players, and we were only able to play for about two hours, but things seemed to work fairly well. I used the free Deathwatch Quickstart adventure, Final Sanction, as the basis for the game, and so statted up some antagonists: Rebel Imperial Citizens and Genestealers. Both of which are here:
Cortex Prime Deathwatch Rebels
Cortex Prime Deathwatch Genestealers
I'd be very interested in feedback if anyone's interested in taking a look at these. My eventual goal is to write up an adventure pack so other people can play it.

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.
