Monsterhearts is a difficult game fo play. Not because the system is complicated, but because it is a game about raw emotions and personal horror. Sometimes you get into a game like this and realize how much of an emotional weight it carries. How it manifests might be different for everyone in the group, but in the end, it comes down to the people at the table putting each other and their emotional well-being above the game. Sometimes, that means that the best choice for the group is to stop playing. No matter how good the story is, it is not worth the discomfort or the stress of friends.
As a group, the members of Carefree High have chosen to end the game for everyone’s well-being. We love and appreciate the support the game has received, and we hope that you’ve enjoyed this ride as much as we have!

I've heard nothing but good things about this, so hopefully one of these days I'll get around to listening.

Monsterhearts can be an emotionally intense game, which is part of the reason I enjoy it so much. It's also a game that should be played with safety tools (the X Card, Script Change, etc.) and aftercare. I'm really happy those things got discussed during the sessions, as I'd like to see them get normalized in the HJ's community and RPG circles at large.
I really enjoyed the AP, was ecstatic to see my favorite game become a Happy Jacks AP, and am sad that the character's stories have to end. However, the wellbeing and comfort of the cast trumps absolutely everything else. Stopping the game could not have been an easy decision to make, but I understand and support your decision. 💕

Ah bleed. A very real risk with any game with emotional intensity. Glad to see you taking care of yourselves.

Will there be any information on what happened next in game or is the game stopped? If they players feel up to it they can write epilogues, but the actual playing of the game is done.
