WOW! I barely get to work and as I am loading massive amounts of beer and dodging forklifts, BAM! Alot of stuff happening on the thread. I am cool with Saturdays at 8PM EST. I think all the peeps that have responded so far sound pretty cool.
I have played with folks on the west coast before and the time hack isn't that bad. One of the guys I game with off and on is a Brit and as long as his schedule is open we usually have a pretty cool time (scheduling isn't that bad as neither of us work weekends)
I am cool to GM right out of the box. If no one has any preference in setting or game, this is what I have available: 1. Necessary Evil Plotpoint 2. A ready to run Sci-fi / Space Opera (you would have to sign an NDA to play in this as it is in development ) 3. Fantasy scenes (based on material from the Fantasy Companion) 4. Plotpoint campaings set in Necropolis 2350 (with the 2355 updates).
If anyone is interested in these let me know and then we can move on the Character Gen (or I can whip up some characters in no time flat).
Sound good? Regards, walt

I would be happy to sign an NDA to chat about your Space Opera, since Snoman is into Traveller I think a non Space Opera would be good. I am just googling Necropolis and it seems pretty badass, is it like Savage Worlds meets Warhammer 40k? I have never played a Super Hero game...and Necessary Evil is supposed to be good. My vote is for either Necessary Evil or Necropolis. With a leaning towards Necessary Evil as an old school comic nerd I think I could have a lot of cheesy fun with that.

The plot point campaign is a lot of fun for NE. I played through it when i got back from Iraq. LOADS of fun. And yes Necropolis is Savage worlds meets warhammer. Wicked good game and well put together.
I could also run deadlands but would need a week to read it as i haven't played reloaded yet. I am STOKED about Hell on earth and would be excited to run that as well
I have the most excellent agents of oblivion game as well. I just havent read trough it.
Regards walt

I couldn't tell if I had the right people when I looked up the names etc you guys posted, so I PM'd Walt a link to my G+ profile page. Hopefully I'll catch up with you all on there. Firstly; malifer - I havn't played a Traveller game, but I've made like 10 - 12 characters, and had test ground and space battles, so I wouldn't be worried about jumping into a sci-fi/Traveller game. I had to google the ideas you put up. - Necessary Evil sounds cool. - Necropolis 2350 - my first response after reading a bit about it was 'meh'. I guess Horror just doesn't appeal to me. WH40K never has either. I'd still give it a go though. - Fantasy could be good. - Sci-Fi/Space Opera. Sci-Fi is probably one of my favorite genre's. I'd give this a crack (NDA wouldn't be a problem) - Cyberpunk - I literally have Neuromancer sitting within arms reach. I read it a few months ago. I think I kinda missed the bus with cyberpunk but would be interested in checking it out some more. I hope that helps rather than confuses! Oh by the way! If you guys want I can totally set up a wiki or some other thing like that on my webserver, if it'll help keep track of a campaign. I have a (hidden) wiki on there now that i set up for some friends when we started a play-by-email strategy game. That fell through, so I could totally repurpose that. Or set up something new. (jaustin.net/wiki if you're curious)

(jaustin.net/wiki if you're curious) I didn't think you'd played Traveller yet, but it seemed if you wanted to run something it would be Traveller. So I figured something different would be good. I really like Space Opera too and have way more Space Rpgs than I could possible ever play. I have solid grasp on Star Wars Saga Edition, but as much as I like the system I think it might be too clunky to run over google. I could be wrong I know other people do it and I am just now starting to look at the mapping options for google+. Other Space game I have worth mentioning -Bulldogs (FATE space opera) -Slipstream (savage worlds flash gordon scifi) -Stars without Number (free version available) - Gurps Space I did lot of trading with Noble Knight Games right before they had their yearly sale and have a stack of savage worlds books. And Necessary Evil is not one of them so I think it's a great place to start and I can't wait to come up with a cheesy villain.

This sounds great. However having never played a Savage Worlds game could some one direct me to the required reading so that I may be ready. Game on!

This sounds great. However having never played a Savage Worlds game could some one direct me to the required reading so that I may be ready. Game on! The free Test Drive Rules can be found here for www.peginc.com/freebies/SWcore/TD06.pdfStart there it's free! And it does seem to cover the majority of the rules. If your local gaming store still has a copy of the Savage worlds Explorers edition that is only $9.99. The newer Savage Worlds Deluxe can be found for $20 and it's a nice hardcover with a few tweaks to the rules, the $9.99 softcover version will be out in August. You could preorder the softcover version and get the pdf in a bundle for $14.99 from pinnacle here www.peginc.com/savage-worlds-deluxe-explorers-edition-now-available-for-preorders/Herolab made a free character builder, but I wouldn't bother, it actually makes it harder than just using a pencil. Making a character is pretty easy. All in all Savage Worlds is pretty easy system so if you can't get the book right now it should be easy to walk everyone through it. Each different setting typically has it's own little flavor tweaks to the core rules.

You get the PDF immediately and then the book is on the way. I ordered two copies (one to send overseas with a friend). IN any case, The rules are worth the money. Necessary evil is a must for creating the characters so you might want to pic up that book. The players Explorers edition is ten dollars and can be gotten here: www.studio2publishing.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=2632Regards, Walt

Savage Worlds Super Powers Companion is readily available my FLGS sells it for $14, but otherwise you can find it for $19.99 online. The Necessary Evil softcover books are currently out of print. But the Necessary Evil Pdf is cheaper than the Super Powers Companion Pdf.

Furthermore if we all get online together for a character gen session it shouldn't be that hard to pick super powers, which is what is missing from the Test Drive Rules.
If you have a concept ready...so decide what kind of powers your character have.
You'll start off with 10 points to buy powers with (you can up that to 15 with an edge) then each super power has a price depending on how powerful the power.
So swimming like Aquaman only cost 1, but Stretching like Mr. Fantastic is 3.
Each PC should be able to buy a handful of lesser powers, a few mediocre powers, or a couple really strong ones.
An example of a strong power Spider-man's Danger Sense cost 8 points but gives enemies a -4 on attacks which is huge.
I do now have a google account but I haven't played around with google+ at all.
I plan on doing that tomorrow night.

Yep that is pretty much it. The powers are very cool. I can't do it this Saturday but we can do a character gen session Next Saturday (7 July 2012). Or I can log into google plus with each person and do a gen session in Google Hangout. I think it is a great idea to come up with a concept... Here was mine when I went through: Background: Growing up in the wilds of South America with missionary parents, Moreaux learned to hunt and track in the tribes. Returning to America as an adult, Dylan lurked in the shadows of society, unable to truely connect. He tried to hunt Supervillains in an attempt to serve a greater good but found them too squishy and easily defeated. He then turned to hunting the next best thing... Super Heroes. This game was so fun... and led to moments like this: Regards, Walt

I have already been fooling around with character creation, but nothing set in stone yet...
