Hey Jacks, I found mention of this here: www.gameknightreviews.com/2012/08/tools-review-printing-on-vinyl-from-banners-on-the-cheap/Most here are probably familiar with products like this (and it may have been mentioned on the show already - I'm still behind!), but I assume nothing. I've not used them but may. I'd really like to run off a nice 4' x 6' map of our Traveller sector to use as a table cover for that extra atmosphere in our Traveller games. They've added an RPG / game map product: www.bannersonthecheap.com/rpg-maps-and-banners$28.82 (in 3rd Quarter 2012 US Dollars ) + shipping gets you a 6' x 4' vinyl map with your custom image The image size limit is 20 MB. I called and spoke with Judith and she was very helpful and nice. She said the 6' x 4' works out to 7200 x 4800 @ 100 DPI which is a typical image spec customers use for this. (Apparently this fits in that 20 MB limit and still looks good - can any others here confirm?)

This sounds like an awesome idea!!!
I have a bunch of aerial photos that I want to use as game boards for Wings of War and Aeronautica Imperialis and this a lot cheaper and easier than what I was planning to do!
Should work pretty good for just about any miniatures wargame, just need to get the base image to the right scale without losing resolution.

Hey Jacks and Jills, For our 2013 Traveller game, I put together this map to cover the table with. My thoughts and results: I was pleased with how this turned out. (Trav fans: it's big enough to put two entire 4x4 sectors together side by side and still have decent detail and plenty of room.) The colors are absolutely striking and look fantastic. When you send in your final proof to be printed, double check with them that really fine detail, like small-font words, will be legible when printed. It was $37.51, with the shipping added. (When I sent my final proof in, the guy on the phone ran it through their sign analysis software and said "What the? This sign has a visibility of only three feet!") Here's some action shots! :

You know it's serious when someone brings their Hewlett Packard scientific calculator to the gaming table. Gotta love the reverse-polish notation! The maps are pretty cool to...
