Sorry to hear about the board hack. As soon as I heard I had to rush over here to register, just like I did on the last one. Still loving the 'cast and really look forward each new ep.

Welcome back.
I had a hell of a time keeping spammers off the old board. I don't know why. I kept the software up to date. I put in anti-spam stuff, but they got in anyway.
It was the second time we got hacked. The first time, I just got everything up and running again and didn't really look for the security hole.
After the most recent, I poured through the log files.
I don't know why they insist of messing with us, but now it's proboard's headache, not mine.
At least their hacks were easy to fix.

When I first set-up my website, I installed Wordpress and a cool PHP based forum (I don't remember which one). Before I produced any episodes or advertised the site or even really told anyone about it - I had spammers filling it up. I was getting 10 to 50 a day! Think about how stupid that is, zero users and zero content and hundreds of spammers. I uninstalled the forum software and asked the Fear the Boot guys if I could use a sub-forum on their's and they said yes. Other podcasters are doing similar things, like the AGC folks on the Gamer's Haven forums and the collection of podcasters all with forum space at RPG Cross Talk, the old model of "every podcast has their own forum they must now maintain forever" is being rethought.
