GURPS ATOMIC MARS!Last Update: 2012-09-19This year I ran a GURPS campaign based on the planetary romance/sword & planet genre. Our campaign have come to an end and I thought maybe some Happy Jacks fans here could have use for the stuff I have designed for the game. I originally placed my stuff on this forum but quickly feared my players came here to find campaign secrets and reveals. So I took out my stuff… until now. ReferencesThis campaign used GURPS 4th Edition and two 3rd edition sourcebooks: GURPS Atomic Horror and GURPS Mars (thus the name of the campaign). I used some materials from Adamant Entertainment excellent Savage Worlds setting “MARS”. I also used some ideas from Green Ronin Spaceship Zero sci-fi serial roleplaying game as well and of course this campaign borrowed heavily from Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter series. Character CreationThe PC's are build around 125-150 points with a maximum of -75 points in Disadvantages (Quirks included). In our campaign set in 50's the PC's were members of a scientific organization called the T.S.F. (Theoretical Science Foundation). We had a native martian character but he only appeared when the players landed on Mars. In your campaign feel not obligated to use this group template. Your group could be space pirates or just awake on Mars (like John Carter). Our Heroes (PC's), aka "The Original Fives"- Anastasia Dimitrova, Russian Pilot (Russian Spy)
- Phoebe Jonas, Fortune Hunter
- Professor Ivan White, World-Class Scientist/Disembodied Brain
- Lt. Robert Smith, T.S.F. Agent and Navigator
- Zandar, Son of Mars, an earthman raised on Mars by the Red Martians.
Special Mention: We also had Agent John Carter, T.S.F. Security Agent (*a red shirt character that died in episode #1) TemplatesSupporting Cast (NPC's)- Hydronaut Officer
- Hydronaut Master
- Hydronaut Shock Trooper
- Mechanical Men of Teleron
- Teleron Master
- Red Martian Citizen
- Red Martian City Guard
- Red Martian Courtesean
- Red Martian Noble
- Red Martian Nomad
- Red Martian Thug
Vehicles- RX-2 Skylance Rocket Spaceship (TSF-RX-2)
- D-42 RocFlying Saucer (Scout))
- Flying Saucer (Scout)
EquipmentOptional Rules Used- Bulletproof Nudity (p.B417)
- Flesh Wounds (p.B417)
- Melee Etiquette (p.B417)
- TV Action Violence (p.B417)
- Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy (p.MA132)
- Wildcard Skill: Each PC had the right to possess one wildcard skill (p.B175).

Radium Pistol (TL10^)Skill: Beam Weapon (Pistol) DX/E Statistics: Damage 3d(2) burn; Acc 4; Range 250/750; RoF 1; Shots 100(3); ST 6; Bulk -2; Rcl 1; Cost $25,000; LC 3; Weight 5 lbs. Design NotesThe technology that created these weapons is now gone and each weapon is passed from generation to generation as heirloom. Using a radium pistol in a fight is like using an antique family sword for a samurai, a thing not done lightly. The ancient red martians are believed to be the creators of these fantastic weapons. Each radium pistol is unique and this design represents the average martian radium pistol. Martian Cost: 25 lbs. of diamond or 50 grams of radium. Signature Gear is an appropriate advantage for any character possessing a radium weapon.

Here's an idea for a new Mars/Barsoom monster, basically it's a six-heads lizard (one big head and five little creepy heads) with front legs like axes. The idea came from the kid of an acquaintance. I think it could suits the Atomic Mars campaign well. I will have to stat him now. Think it turn out well, you tell me.
