Hey Jackensteins Monsters! (Halloween Closer all the time...)
I would really like to hear (not sure if this has been a focused show topic) a podcast about everybody's various VTT. What are the pros/cons of each; use video chat/just skype/axon dolby/team speak ? Whats working and what doesn't. This might have been done I am catching up on some missed season 6/7. I am a HUGE fan of fantasy grounds the buy in may feel a bit steep to some each player required to shell out 30 or so dollars (depending if you want full or lite license) Then there's the ULTIMATE!! license at 130+ dollars allowing you to GM for a group where no one else needs a license. The interface is so slick and thorough, our group loves it. Just a thought. Keep 'em rollin gang.

TTopRPGI have been using it for over a year now, it seems very simple to use... to me. I like it over Maptool for sure. Its built for Pathfinder/D&D, but I don't see why it can't be used for other things. Its JUST a tabletop and you will need Vent/Skype for voice.

I know my group isn't always thrilled with the crashes that happen, but this old Grognard is impressed with Roll20.
It's still new and it has bugs. However it's free and it's second best thing to sitting around the table.
I love the Google+ Cams that let me interact with everyone else.
I keep an eye on Tabletop Forge too.
I think the best answer is to try some out.

Roll20 is my favorite by far. Though, admittedly this may be because I find prep and game conversion a fun past time. Roll20 is the one that is flexible enough for me to do some of the things I can not do during a table game. Its top thing is the concept of PAGES. Some make you arrange and set everything up while you are playing. With pages, you can premake whole adventures and prep whole areas in advance of actually playing. Disclaimer: this artwork is not my own. This story is not my own. This was my test set up I use to play with some real life friends and my relatives. It is Tomb of Terrors from Savage Worlds using art assets from around the web, and from the Tomb of Terrors PDF itself. I do not use them for profit nor make it available to other people. Please don't sue me. Here's a picture of my GM screen: As you can see, you can be setting up the next area while the players are looking at another area/map. The barmaid there is invisible to players until I move her into the frame of the inn. Will they talk to her? Will they not? its up to them, I just slide whoever they want to talk to, on this particular one I have a barmaid, a barkeep, and a guard. I keep titled and bordered frames for when they first enter new places. Like I find a village photo I like, add a banner with the village name and have that up as a describe what the players see coming into view. (Edited in) This is in addition to the usual maps and tokens set up you find in other VTT's. Also the players do not see all that stuff, or the outlines and all that. They just see the bartender come into view, and I start RP'ing what he says. Maybe he says "perhaps Mary would know the answer to your question, Mary! come here!" then I slide the barmaid in and say "what ya want?" Pretty cinematic and cool IMO.
