Sons of Anarchy game idea

So, Netflix has a lot of SoA episodes, who knew?
Now i'm thinking of setting up a game based on the Sons of Anarchy TV show. The players will start out as prospects in the MC. The first main arc will be the prospects getting clued in on the club and put in some tight spots. Several, 'tagalong' jobs, and quite a few errand boy jobs. "It's the prez's birthday tomorrow. We need strippers and booze at the MC by 5:00 pm tomorrow" (at which point the prospects will be left to hustle up strippers and party favors). "The club needs $10k by midnight, don't bother yourself with what it's for." (etc.) And an overarching problem the club as a whole will need to deal with and the PCs will be instrumental with. At the end of the arc they will be patched in as full members of the MC.
2nd arc... now we're getting ahead of ourselves.
Anyway, I'm trying to think of ways to run this, and tie the system in with some of the details I like about SoA.
Patches: the specialized patches on the cuts. "Men of Mayhem" "First 9" "Sgt at Arms" etc.
Outlaw hustling: I think this will give the players a lot of room to be creative.
Club's code: The club will have some rules that must not be broken. Keep the hard stuff out of Charming, etc. Must keep players reined in somehow.
I am (surprise, surprise) leaning toward FATE. Here are a few of my reasons:
1) I don't plan to have player death unless it is really important to the story. FATE lets players avoid this with an appropriate concession or consequence.
2) Being captured happens, it does, just go with it. (hearkening back to spirit of the century and it's pulpy goodness.)
3) Aspects. I love 'em. Everyone will start out with a 'SoA Prospect' aspect. When they patch in, it will switch to 'Redwood Original' Also, if it is merited, they can earn the "Men of Mayhem" patches, and possibly build up to "President" or some other patch as well. (I will treat these as additional aspects for me to compel and for them to be able to use).
4) I don't want to do a lot of encounter-level prep with grids and spreadsheets full of baddies (or goodies, depending on perspective).
I am open to suggestions on multiple fronts.
1) Sound interesting to anyone, or just me?
2) system preference? (Hyvemind - not ubiquity or cosmic patrol)
3) any other suggestions?
