All right. I'm going to be a horrible, self-serving person and ask for the opinions of the group on my Gateway 2013 game ideas. I'm running everything in the Ubiquity system to show it off (and to make things easy on myself by using a single system), and have some ideas floating around. They are, in no particular order, as follows: - A Charlie's Angels/James Bond mashup super spy game, possibly set in the 1960's.
- A mythical viking game, like 300 and Spartacus: Blood and Sand, just with viking bad-assery.
- Horror/action/suspense game, set in the CthulhuTech universe.
- Another super spy-esque game, set in the ridiculous, "win by failing" Venture Bros. universe.
- Magical girls with mechanical, flying propeller legs carrying giant machine guns vs. laser-shooting alien invaders in an alternate WWII setting. Based on the horrible Strike Witches anime franchise, but with way less (read: no) underage nudity.
- Something in the TRON universe, set between the original TRON movie and TRON: Legacy.
- Even more spies and double-dealing action, this time in the bizarre, dystopian world of Aeon Flux (and not that terrible, bullshit movie of the same name, but the proper one by Peter Chung).
- 1930's pulp adventure with Rex Richards and his team of misfits. These are the original pulp characters made by my group when we first played Hollow Earth Expedition, and they've made an appearance at every JIGG Golden Week Game Convention for the past 3 years.
Thoughts? Any of these elevator pitches sound interesting? I don't know how many games I'm running yet, but it'll be at least two (I want the free pass). I'll prioritize the ones that people seems the most interested in. Thanks for the feedback.

1. Magical girls: I love anything with an anime spin on it. Tappy and Jen Johnson's Hello Kitty: Theme Park Adventure was amaaaazing. I played Morrigan and had a total freaking blast. Please do this, and I will back your play. 2. Tron: Anything Tron is awesome and I think a party that is mixed with users and programs would be a neat dynamic. 3. 1930's pulp adventure: It's one of my favorite genres and I don't get to play it enough. I've never played ubiquity so I can't give you any feedback regarding that, but all your game ideas sound great. The three I chose would satisfy my personal needs and that's all that matters, right? Make sure that the game you satifiies your needs too!

Viking Lunch! That and Cthulutech sound rad. Fray did a CTech game a few cons ago and it was a lot of fun.

I vote Venture Bros, James Bond, and Vikings. Although I do love straight up pulp(Not in orange juice) too.

Venture Brothers, Magical Girls, or 1930's pulp most definitely.

So far Viking Lunch (thanks for the name suggestion, hoseirrob) and Pulp! seem most popular with three votes each. CthulhuTech, Magical Anime Girls, and Venture Bros. have two votes each. I'll start brainstorming story ideas for those first.
I'm also thinking about running a session or two of Monsterhearts, though there'd only be 4 player slots. Of course I may not get any signups after people see the kind of shit that goes on in that game from the APs I'm posting. ;D

I would love to play Monsterhearts. I am a confused angsty teenager at heart, so it shouldn't be too tough to RP.

I think most of us are teenagers at heart. The real question though hoseirrob, is are you willing to make out with fray? Cause yeah, that's what happens in Monsterhearts. ;D

The Venture Brothers could be a lot of fun. Kill the boys off half way through and then bring them back and have the players RP not knowing what's going on.

I'm only ok if it's no tongue. Making out with no tongue? Bah. Where's the fun in that? Rather than run an "official" game of Monsterhearts during the con, I think I may have to run an unofficial game after hours one night. At the bar. Every time someone misses a roll (gets a 6 or less on 2d6) they have to do a shot. That should loosen people up a bit so that things get interesting. In a sexy kind of way. I'd considered making the PCs the major characters from the Venture Bros. show, gandalftheplaid. But ultimately I went with a different (though hopefully still fun) idea. The major characters would still make appearance in the game, though.

Probably for the best. Same reasons you don't play the main characters if you're playing in a Star Wars or Firefly setting. Better to make your own story.
