I am of 2 different minds at the moment and wanted to bounce some ideas off of the SW community here.
SK has an incapacitation system that when you get into the 4+wounds area, your level of injury depends on how many would the attack that got you there caused. Being nickled and dimed by Goblins would be less likely to kill you than a canon shot at you from point blank range.
However, it gets a little - wonky. I realized this past session with exploding dice you can stand up with 6 wounds and *try* to keep fighting. I am unsure if I want some poor bastard sitting at the table attempting to do actions at -6 (if they don't have edges to lessen that) or if that is preferable to incapacitated, which would allow the person to quick use the bathroom or get a drink.

While I haven't read Solomon Kane, I think I'm not a fan. I've always looked at the incapacitated range as, vigor rolls to stay alive, oh goody, permanent injury tables, yay!
While it could make more sense narratively, "yes I did get stabbed, a lot" as opposed to "I caught that cannonball with me gigantic belly!"
I think I'd rather just do it under GM fiat, and what the players agree to. If you start crumpling to the ground, and there are other targets, the goblins might stop twisting their daggers and go stab someone else. (GM: we'll stop at 4 wounds here and you can try to soak.) vs. You get hit by the cannonball, as you were strapped to the cannon, we'll just let the dice explode a few more times, yup 8 wounds! But either...
eh, who am I kidding, I usually stop at 4 wounds regardless. I figure that's bad enough. and it's hard enough to soak any of that, to the extent that I usually see people save their benny for the incapacitation table.

I meant a fan of that rule.
I currently have no opinion on the source material or the setting, other than they sound neat.

It's pretty much Conan with a little black powder and no drinking or wenching. Solomon is a Puritan after all. He is usually far less horrified of the black magic going on around him or in some cases being used by him than I would imagine a real Puritan would be but I wasn't reading them for historical accuracy.

It's pulpy goodness that shows why such stories are good for Savage Worlds.
