Azuretalon and myself will be invading enemy territory once again for Fear the Con 6. Just the two of us going this time, and we're going to be completely inundated with amazing games.
Anyone else going to the con? If not, we'll give a full report upon return!

Been a blast so far! Azuretalon and myself have played in two different games. The first was a game system called "Everything is dolphins." As you might guess, the premise is that we were dolphins searching for our Uncle Eddy, who got himself into some trouble with sharks. Gun-slinging dolphins and amazing sea-themes puns were had around the whole table. Played a bit of Munchkin in the interim, and then we played a game of Fiasco with Jeb from Postcards from the Dungeon. Amazing game! We've had an absolute blast! Playing Hyperreality in about an hour.
More updates to come!

Things I've taken away from FtC6:
1. If you go to any con, you need to play games that you've never tried before. This con we played Everything is Dolphins, Hyperreality, and The Trouble With Rose, all games that were absolutely new and absolutely hilarious.
2. Booters are pretty nice people. We met a lot of really nice people. It was nice to see a group so welcoming, just like the people here in the Happy Jacks Community. Just about everyone that we played games with were really nice, and we talked to them throughout the con and played games with them in the down times. Got to talk to Jeb and Runester from Postcards from the Dungeon as well as Dan from Fear the Boot. BTW Stu, Dan is totally up to doing a podcast with you when he's out that way again for an event.
3. Free beer is pretty cool. Despite the fact that the beer felt like it was watered down (not in taste, but in alcohol content), having free beer and soda and fruit both days was pretty amazing. Worth the added price of the ticket.
4. Now I really want to go to a a Strategicon event. If we had this much fun with a community that we're not fully a part of, I would love to meet some of the fine people of Happy Jacks, shake their hands, thank them for their fine podcast, and play some amazing games and make some awesome memories.
I know I'm rambling a lot about a con that most of you didn't go to, and it may look like I'm being traitorous. Just had a great weekend without the stress of work or my Masters thesis for once. Hope your weekends were just as fun and filled with your own games!

I think we were far too busy gaming to even take any. I think I may have one with me and the dragon mascot as well as a humorous one of a sign in the hotel. I guess I fail.

You fail? I'm the one trying to live vicariously through someone else pretending to be someone else for fun.

I suppose we are Jackers and Booters, but we should probably avoid calling ourselves Jackbooters

Seriously though, the Booter community was incredibly warm and inviting to us even though we had hardly met any of them before. I have to make it out to cali someday soon.

Sounds awesome.
I seriously considered organizing a Happy Jacks game con, a la Fear the Con. But with three conventions a year only 20 minutes away, it seems unnecessary.

Good plan, Stu. I'd go for the lazy option, too. ;-)

Meeting you guys (Muntjack & Azuretalon) was a total surprise, and one of the highlights for me! I'm very happy that you found the community welcoming, it's something that it prides itself on, but if I just say it, it sounds like propaganda. Much better to have it borne out. Trust me, if I could rationalize flying from the right coast to the left coast, just to play with Stu-and-crew ... I would. That's a bit of a hard sell, though! I suspect the best I'll ever do is arrange to attend a GenCon that all three (A, B, & C) teams attend, and then I can shake hands and buy beers all around.

Ahoy Runester! I'll admit that I just finally got around to listening to Postcards from the Dungeon. Great podcast sir! Really nice mix of interviews, cranky movie reviews, and gaming stuff. Fear the Con sounds like a great time, I've given my old Indiana crew the heads up to make sure to attend next year. Interested to hear how some of the planned games went; like the Oil Rig Horror game. As a real world mariner in Alaska I've stared with horror at those things for years... Here's an open invite to all the Postcards and Booters to get in on Jackercon 2013. Not sure how many G+ gamers you have but it would be great to get the chance to game with some of you fine folks. The conplanner is a great tool by the way, thanks for that. Cheers. www.conplanner.com/ConventionHome.aspx?c=122
