With a nod toward our recent kickstarter discussions, let's take a look at this one.
The Pitch: steampunk fiction anthology and FATE core rpg.
Anthology by Tee Morris and Pip Ballantine (well, I think they'll be commissioning the work and editing the anthology. It wasn't clear to me if there was going to be any new work from these two in the anthology)
Tee Morris and Pip (Phillippa) Ballantine wrote a pair of really enjoyable Steampunk books : Phoenix Rising and The Janus affair. (well worth the read if you like steampunk). These books are the basis of the setting for both the anthology and the rpg.

rpg: being put out by Brennan Taylor of Galileo Games. Brennan did Bulldogs! which I am a really big fan of. It was one of my first kickstarters. He has had several other successful kickstarters, and I don't know of any stinkers. I kind of wish he was the author, but that will be done by: J.R. Blackwell of Shelter in Place (live-action zombie game, published by Galileo Games, and I believe originally funded by kickstarter) and one of the many settings from the FATE core kickstarter. She also has writing credits on some other publications that show up in Amazon. With setting development by PJ Schnyder. who has several writing credits on Amazon as well.
payout date: Jul 2013 => anthology; Sep 2013 => rpg
my concerns
1) it doesn't sound like much of the work has been done, as of yet.
2) I don't know much about the rpg crew. (haven't read any of their work, as far as I know).
things I like
1) the setting => I really enjoyed the two books I linked to above. I think it gives the bare bones of a really interesting setting and premise.
2) Brennan Taylor => even though it looks like he is mostly publisher. Based on his and JR Blackwells significant involvement in FATE core I think the rpg should be sweet.
3) the KS video => I think the effort and humor they use in this video speaks well for the project as a whole.
TLDR: worried about the appearance of not a lot done yet, encouraged by the people involved. Enthusiastic about the system and the setting proposed. Sort of interested in the fiction anthology.
Result: I'm in for $15. electronic copies of the anthology and the rpg.
