Seriously I'd like a sub forum for C&C because it's a game in its own right. It doesn't fit in any of the D&D sub forums and I know I'm not the only one who has room for it one their bookshelf. I think our hosts should give it a whirl around the block as well - if you like travellers neat simplicity you'll like C&C without the old draw back of OD&D where all you get is better able to hit things as you advance in level. Plus if you spring for the Castle Keepers Guide you'd be surprised at how easy it is to tweak the game to get the experience intended. I also think that the likes of DCC and other off shoots deserve a separate sub forum. They're not really older editions of D&D many are as different from old D&D as Pathfinder is from 2e. Aaron

What we really need to do is create an 'other systems' sub-forum, and roll a good portion of the system specific sections into it.
Most of them are stuck at 10 or so threads, and it is cluttering the place up.
An 'other' section will allow system's to EARN their own sub-forum by having lots of discussion around them - instead of Stu having to create a sub-forum for every joe fuckface with a $2 pdf.

That is the worst offender. However there are others like: Chaosium/BRP - 3 threads in 6 months D&D 4e - 3 threads in 9 months (and 8 threads ever) D&D 2e and earlier - dead for the last 2 months (much more active prior to that though, could just be a lull) Fiasco - 3 threads in 9 months White Wolf - 2 threads in 10 months Wild Talents - 1 thread in 6 months The Shadowrun sub-forum looks like it was saved since the announcement of the new edition this year. Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to shit on any of the above systems, I just don't think there is enough discussion on these systems in this community to warrant their own sub-forum. They are there now and it might be distasteful to take them away, but I don't see it that way. I don't run the forums and maybe many people feel very differently about it, but compared to the very active sub-forums like GURPS, Savage Worlds, L5R (helped along by the amazing AP series), and yes - Apocalypse World (damn hippies!), the ones above are practically dead. With all that said - it isn't as if each sub-forum costs Stu by the hour.......

There is a lot of cross forum bleed with D&D 2e - a lot of its appropriate discussion has appeared in general gaming, often in D&D 5e and sometimes in feedback. I like to think that this is because of its long legacy that it is so frequently referenced. (ie: D&D = RPG for many, even many experienced gamers). I'd rather keep the likes of BRP because that catches all it's derivatives - CoC, Stormbringer, etc A forums life also depends on the people championing it and if it's the new kid on the block. As observed Shadowrun was dead for awhile until the new edition was announced. I expect CoC will liven up as its new edition gears up (without any $ from me I might add) and WhiteWolf once Stu has finished grappling the WoD Corebook and taken it for a spin. Aaron
