When talking about how he started developing this, Adam talks about his group of players at that time, a lot of newbs to RPGs, basically saying: "we don't care about the rules... i'm going to tell you what i want to do, you tell me what die to roll, and then tell me what happens when i tell you what number i got", and effectively how he needed to manage their characters on top of the usual DM shit (they were playing AD&D). Since he was playing Apocalypse World with a different group in parallel, he started "playtesting" his AD&D group with his D&D hack of AW. And hence, DW.
This is the reason I went to Savage Worlds, cause I couldn't be bothered managing all that shit that comes with D&D, since my players weren't going to do it... but even SW mechanics for my group is more than they care about. And all they really seemed to care about was the story and the fun of the story. I can't wait to start them using this.
Overall nice interview! They talk about game design, indie games, incorporating DW mechanics (bonds, etc.) into your other games... good stuff.

I haven't actually read it, but may at some point. I'm not sure how you planned to "read" it (closed captioning?).
