*In theory at least. A D&D clerics advancement is loosely, at best, connected to being a good cleric. In reality he climbs up the rewards program by committing lots and lots of murder. As it should be. JiB

*In theory at least. A D&D clerics advancement is loosely, at best, connected to being a good cleric. In reality he climbs up the rewards program by committing lots and lots of murder. As it should be. JiB Or not...I've made combat in many of our Pathfinder sessions not always the best option. I've gotten rather weary of the murder hobos format and I really encourage my players to be aware of the ripple effect/ramifications of the their wholesale slaughter of what they might consider to be "foes" but in reality are simply trying to eek out a living in a harsh desert landscape. Also, our cleric has a profound dislike for bloody bodies as he has a rather traumatic past...its a pretty bad ass character quirk. A medic who has trouble being a medic...He advances by continuing to believe in his power to affect change in the world...and at times that belief is sorely tried. There are forces in the world that while not god like are certainly diabolical and they've begun to tempt this follower of the distant, cold god. "Poor, poor cleric the blood does make you so sad...we can help you, we can take all that sadness and pain away...*whispers in the dark*" At face value most players might say fuck no! that's not going to end well. My players? They like the idea of immersing themselves in characters that make those decisions that others might say "what the fuck were you thinking!?!" and then choose the more horrible of options and try to explain why... My players are rather good.

What I did for a game that the DM used gestalt was Gunslinger/Alchemist. unfortunately I did not get to use my gun that often since the amount of stealth we needed to use in the game.
