I got The Quiet Year from the latest bundle of holding and I'm itching to try it this weekend. It's a map-drawing game with some rpg elements about a small post-collapse community. Instead of explaining a lot, here's their awesome pitch from their Indiegogo campaign: I'm looking for up to three players for Saturday (Dec 7), time to be determined depending on who wants in.

I know that I didn't see this until just now (past your desired play time. but how did it go if you played. if not, I would totally be interested in trying this out at some point. I could potentially play later this saturday night approx 7-8 pacific time.

Didn't get any players here, but I tried it with a friend over roll20/G+ on Sunday, which worked quite well. It really plays more like a board game, but it's a lot of fun. It's also really interesting in that it mirrors community stuff quite well, even down to the fact that you never really get to follow up on everything that comes up.
I'm definitely willing to play again, but unfortunately this Saturday doesn't work for me.

Fair enough. with the right mindset I see this being an excellent way to have cooperative construction of the gameworld for a fixed setting post-a rpg. have this be year one/prologue and have the rpg game pick up in year two. the abundance of loose ends is what made me think this might work.

I'm sure that would work. If the community doesn't survive at the end of the game, you can still start playing any of the outsiders that were mentioned. Actually, it's probably best to choose the group you'll be playing after the game and not talk about it before. Many of the outsiders coming up in play are really cool starting points for an rpg.
