www.kickstarter.com/projects/916188323/doublesix-dice-roll-betterI like that you can pledge either for a static set of dice or "Random Roll", where they will roll how many dice they send you (yes, there is a FAQ which talks about how they plan to be transparent about it). Also, stretch goals that add extra dice to your dice total... how meta!

Totally backed this for a dozen dice. Only problem? Now, after years of waiting for metal Fudge/Fate dice...I'm gonna have to do the same for these lol.
I do like the idea, though. And for some reason, I want to color half the faces one color and half another, to generate multiple results with a single 3d roll. Maybe if the roll is a success *and* all faces match color, it's a critical hit.

Oh, that'd be cool... I backed it for the random number of dice... at least at this point I'd get a minimum of 5. :-)

Honestly, I feel that if you have a problem with regular d6s not being random enough or rolling well enough for you, it's just as easy to roll a regular d12 and divide the outcome by 2 (rounding up).

My problem isn't that d6s aren't random enough... my problem is i don't know when to stop throwing money at kickstarters cause they look cool.

Yeah, it's not even remotely a "need," more like, "Oh, new dice. Sure, why not?"

The lesson I have learned here is that I'll never lose money by overestimating how much gamers are willing to spend on Moar Dice!

There have also been "double dice" around for quite a while, a clear plastic d6 with a smaller d6 inside of it -- so by rolling 3d6, you could actually generate two entirely distinct results. I've never bought any because I don't have a concrete use in mind, but I find them intriguing (there are also d6s with 3 smaller d6 inside -- generating 4 distinct 3d6 results in a single toss! The mind boggles).

It's obviously a very niche product as well, even within a small hobby, but I'm sure some people love them

Oh ya, for those interested... they are doing 12-sided FUDGE dice on the kickstarter now (opened it up). You can back it just for those if those interest you. Also they have 4-sided (12-sided) dice as well.

I think it's at 28 dice for $10.
My only fear on this one is that he has gotten quite a bit more than he expected to. Goal was $3,246. And it is at $126,247

I think he gave himself a good it of time Aug '14, but he does have a lot of different molds now. But I think it would be difficult for it to become a complete clusterfuck. There's no waiting for writing/editing, artwork, or layout. He's got to check the molds and ship a ton of dice. It might be late due to volume, but I doubt he'll be another Nystul.

Contact the dude... sometimes KS folks will let you join in after the fact, never know.
Also, I've seen some 12-sided fudge dice out there somewhere separate from the KS.
