Hlo! So, I tend to specialize in online RPGs. Part of this is due to my physical isolation from people I would like to game with, coupled with a deader than dead RPG scene in town. I've run a few D&D4 games, a Shadowrun or two, and some other miscellaneous stuff. One thing that's a little hard to deal with sometimes is a battle mat. Lately I know there's a bunch of programs and things that people can use, but to avoid downloading stuff and operating under the KISS principle, I just subverted Googly Docs. I thought if anyone was interested they could have this public sample version I made to copy and/or use. docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Am-HZioic6jRdGNJZ1piUEFPQkU5Y0tFTTVVdmlMZkEGod Googly Docs has such an ugly long link, eh? Anyway, I have a few other things I've collected, such as the locally-infamous critical fumble table and a funny table of "while you were drunk..." tiny storylines (everyone I play games with inevitably decided they're going to drink their character to excess once or twice) and I thought if anyone was interested I could share those too. Conversely, do you have any quick reference or on-the-fly resources you made or like to use? I'm always looking for useful little bits of knowledge to make life easier!

My gaming is all online, too. My two favorite players live 8 hours away and halfway around the world. We use Maptool for D&D. We ran into a ton of connection issues last year but we solved them with a program called Hamachi that technomagically creates stable connections between peers in a group. It's been extremely reliable. Also works for other peer connection gaming utilities like Vassal. Some people probably know about Vassal already. www.vassalengine.org/index.phpIt's mostly for board and miniature games, but it's still great for an online gaming group. Some groupmates out for the week but others still want to game? Jump in Vassal with a module for some Pandemic or Arkham Horror or something. We should get some forum support around here for Vassal gaming.

Only one of the games I've played in was done online and that was a Pathfinder Society game run by Sir Guido a while back. Lots of fun enjoyed the game very much. He used a program I think called Tabletop RPG for the digital tabletop ... Not bad at all ...
