Orccon is about one month away, and I'm a little surprised to see no forum traffic about it except regarding the gaming space. I'm trying to decide about going, and it's a toss-up for me right now with it coinciding with Valentine's Day weekend, no RPG events being posted (unless I'm just missing it), and I get the sense that a lot of the hosts either will not be running or will be running only an event or two. The gaming space is a non-issue for me after gaming that way for decades at numerous Gen Cons. This would be my first Strategicon con, and I've been dying to attend one and game with you guys after listening to all of the post-con podcasts. I'm hoping that the heady days of those past cons haven't past me by. So, if you're running at this con, please let us know.

I always run two games. I have in the past gotten as high as running four, but I think that's a mistake for me because of the amount of work involved. So far, known host run games are:
Stu - Dangerous Journeys (probably, depending on if the game is playable or not), Moment of Truth)
Stork - A Traveller game if he can find a co-gm (Not positive he's actually going to, but that's what he said)
JiB - "Steam & Thunder" (Hero System), "Eclipse Fate" (Eclipse Phase / Fate)
CADave & HosierRob - WWF Game
Tyler - Unknown
Kimi - Unknown
That's what my poor feeble brain spits up when I ask it at this point.

I just registered my Moment of Truth fantasy game.
I'm probably not going to run Dangerous Journeys at this con, I'm simply not going to have time to absorb the rules and develop a scenario. Maybe by Gamex.
If I can think of a second game scenario, I'll register for a second game -- it'll probably be Moment of Truth as well.

I have registered my Burn Notice FAE game and my Psionics Fate game (same characters, different scenarios, since they were so successful last time, and I don't have a hell of a lot of prep time available to me before the con hits.)

I'm registering my Dead Presidents game (I remembered the plot!), and a Viking Pathfinder game. Anyone who shows up to one of my games with a Crisp Angry Orchard or a Weienstephaner gets an extra bennie.

Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, the epic WWF game will be delayed for another con. I still plan to attend at least for Saturday, and am currently evaluating if I will be able to get a game together in time to run or not.

Maybe you could do a GI JOE game in TOP SECRET featuring these guys: Rumor has it you've developed some experience dealing with twins...(congrats by the way!) Has anyone given any thought to recording any of the con games ? Although perhaps trying to record in a room packed with other gamers, curtain or no curtain might sound a bit...messy. Cheers, Curt J.

My money is on the younger one.

I haven't registered it yet, but I'm going to try to get something ready for OrcCon after all to get a better feel for the new place. Likely it will be a straight up modern day Spec Ops run -- guns, grenades, body armor, and lots of sucking chest wounds -- to balance out my previous gonzo games. A more remote possibility is the Battle of the Planets game I've been mulling over for a while, but that would take a lot more time to prep.

I was wondering if you were going to bring something Mook. Glad to hear you are planning to join the fun. I think you will be happy with the new setup and look forward to getting your feedback.
Sorry it took me so long to start the game approval process guys. But I wanted to be absolutely sure about my space so I didn't run into any unwanted conflicts. From here on it should be breezy. I usually approve things within an hour if they come in at a regular 8am - 10pm time.
Looking forward to seeing you all there.

I'm going to run an AD&D game on Friday night after normal hours so my bro Andres Salazar can finish refereeing his BattleTech event (!!shameless plug!!). If you have a Gmail account and you want to attend plaese send me a PM and I'll add you to the guest list. The entire Jack's familly is welcome to crash my game. Here's the rundown:
Will you be at Orccon '14 this year? Why not join me and a few other stalwart gamers in an after-hours game of AD&D on Friday night? If a game like Hunter S. Thompson meets Gary Gygax meets the Manson Family reunion sounds like your kind of fun, then please consider yourself invited to this tabletop bash. A classic "to be announced" AD&D module will be DM'ed by myself whilst under the influence of many volatile beverages. The location (much like my sanity) is undetermined but will most likely be an unoccupied RPG room like last year. We will go for as long as humanely possible, but keep your wits! Those of you from last year's game haven't forgotten what happens to the louts that pass out first!

You guys have convinced me to make the trek to LA. I've registered for Orccon 2014. In my biweekly game, I'm the sole GM, so this will be my first chance to play in a game for 4+ years. I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to play, and I'm hoping I can make it into several of the Happy Jack's events. Huge thanks to everyone who is GM'ing at Orccon.

I doubt you'll regret it, Ghostdancer. Just submitted my game a few minutes ago, requesting Friday 2pm-6pm and Monday 9am-1pm slots. "GURPS Spec Ops: Operation Needle The CIA Special Operations Group is the most elite and covert Spec Ops force in the world. As a member of this team, you find yourself once more putting it all on the line to get the job done, and get the whole squad home in one piece. Set in the present, no magic, no aliens, just guns and guts. Please note that PC death *is* a real possibility! No prior knowledge of GURPS necessary."
