Excellent, let's see if we can get 3-4 more people involved.
Do you prefer Pathfinder or D&D?

hmm... i may be interested to see what that's like... break it down for me, cause i have no experience with pbp: what is the weekly time commitment and regularity?

I've never had to explain PBP before, so by all means, let me know if I'm being less than clear. If a face-to-face game is analogous to a conversation (The DM says something, everyone that is going to respond does so, the DM replies and the story moves forward) than a play-by-post is analogous to a thread (The DM posts something, everyone that is going to post a response does so, the DM posts a reply and the story moves forward) I typically use invisible castle for die rolls because you can post links to the results, and myth weavers for character sheets for much the same reason, though I'm open to suggestion for these things, (especially since if someone else wants to run, I'm more than happy to play.) Weekly time commitment & regularity: Like any thread it's sort of constantly going, but because only 5-6 people are involved one doesn't have a lot of catch-up to do if they post once a day, (but again, let's see what everyone's up for in the name of regularity.)

hmm... i may be interested to see what that's like... break it down for me, cause i have no experience with pbp: what is the weekly time commitment and regularity? Recognizing that this may be more overhwhelming than helpful, you might be able to get a good sense of how play-by-post works from noodling around rpol.net for a bit; it's a free site specifically for play-by-post, and there are tons of 3.5/Pathfinder games (as well as games of pretty much any system you can imagine) available there. Want to see how it works -- dig around a bit here. Not my game, not one I play in or even read; I suggest it simply because it is one of the longer-running ones, has a large cast, and is completely public so you can see the in-game threads without needing a log-in for the site. (Mine, for which the in character threads are NOT public, is here.) Time commitment and regularity depends entirely upon your GM, of course; a pbp game can be as active and frequently posting as the GM can/wants to keep up with.

My pleasure. I highly recommend rpol for those looking to either play in play-by-post games or to run them. It provides an in-game dice-roller that accommodates a lot of different systems (and can be set for any of 30+ systems), places to put in text character sheets (though I have a couple of players who host on myth-weavers and just post a link to that sheet in their rpol space), and even a basic Wiki function for your game.
If you want to keep Players A and B in the dark about what C and D are up to in another thread, you can put the threads in different "groups" and assign players access rights to only the groups you want them to see. You can also have private lines in public posts visible only to designated players. If you want a player to see something the others can't see -- but don't want them to KNOW they're the only one who sees it -- you can do that, too. And there's a separate private message area for every game.
As a GM, you can create an NPC who, for all the players know, looks just like any other PC, if only for the joy of killing that "PC" off without warning.
Oh, and I'm up to play if anyone runs and I pass the audition.

I would prefer Pathfinder but I've played both PF and 3.X

Okay, so we have Bevin, Slayer, and this humble Kobold. We need two or three more to make this do-able here. Any takers?
Bevin, D&D or Pathfinder?

Doesn't matter to me -- I'm good with either.

I know it's a little late, but I'd be down with a PBP game. Pathfinder.
That's two of your "two to three" you thought you'd need to get started, if everyone else can manage.
I can commit to a few times a week posting I'm sure.
