Well... not really. I mean its not bad but its a bit too generic for my liking. Consider a D&D campaign setting maybe like FR/Ravenloft/Eberron but in the end it also depends on what you like and what style you prefer.

I no longer use d20pfsrd. I find that the Paizo hosted PRD (http://paizo.com/prd/) is just as good, and for me, easier to search and use at the table. The only thing it doesn't have is the shitload of third party stuff that d20 has. But that stuff is all a crapshoot anyway.
Pathfinder is absolutely a game for players. There are a ton of books available, and Paizo is CONSTANTLY releasing more. To the point where you can have a subscription to get books sent to you monthly. I used to have the adventure path sub, but after I collected 3 full APs and had yet to make it though ONE, I put it on hold.

The Pathfinder core book felt *very* generic around the setting. That's one of the things I like about it, and I would have run my current campaigns in that... if I hadn't found and fallen in love with savage worlds.
Personally, I like to just make a small environment built around the characters or the desires of the player's game, and then build the world around it, as you find out how they are interacting with it. It sounds like work, but I find it's less work than building a world... you just build it as you go (and let the players help you build it with backstory and such).

Yeah for me having a HUGE setting world already created can be a bit of an overload for me...too many different possible things to focus on. I often start with a single town and a bunch of names on a map and build it from there. Especially as my players start to hint at things they want to do...'be a part of an elite secret sword mage school ?" done, I'll just put that right here. 'Be a secret elven spy who infiltrates the imperial forces ?' done, you started out at this remote location.
But at the same time I steal the shit out of other prepublished campaign worlds and stick them into my games.

The Inner Sea World Guide is excellent if you want to check out Golarion. Even if you hated 80% of Golarion, chances are really good you'd find a country or continent there within which to place an entire campaign, and just ignore the rest.
