I am just a little embarrassed that my bookshelf contains not a single d&d book (OK I have swords and wizardry but am not counting that). So - what do peeps think of ze pathfinder beginner box?
I am thinking about picking it up but am not sure whether I would be better served just buying the core book.....
Is the beginner box only for RPG nooblets?? Is there anything in that box that I want that isn't in the core book?

I've thought about picking it up for the cardboard minis when I had a PF game running. I don't know what in it would be useful for experienced players, since I didn't actually get a copy. I've heard some people talk online about playing using just the basic rules in the beginner box, since there isn't as much going on as in the core rulebook, and preferring it.

Some blowhard started flag waving about the Beginner Box a few years ago... Paizo Fan Boy I've been running Beginner Box games at the wife's bookstore for some time now and it is a great introduction to RPGs. If you're buying it to bury yourself in the glory hole that is Pathfinder...the Core Book is the deal. But, if you wanna get the kiddies hooked on the dice smack there isn't a better product out there.

Interesting.
Sounds like the core book would be what I am after. The beginner box might he a decent gift though.... hmmmm....
Oh and describing it as a glorious pathfinder gloryhole is making me so much more keen :/
