Hey, my wife got me L5R 4th edition for my Birthday. My only exposure to this world before that was 3rd edition oriental Adventures (yes, the dark times).
My first impression is the damn thing should have come with a magnifying glass so I could read the really small writing...

Me thinks you might just be old... Agreed. The print isn't that small at all really.

Omg. I am old.
The mechanic looks interesting. Makes skills and stats both important

Omg. I am old. The mechanic looks interesting. Makes skills and stats both important Getting introduced to L5R through SirGuido's game, I have to say that the mechanics are really fun. It becomes very quickly evident how "deadly" of a system it is. Take any bad ass bushi have him get hit once and his Target numbers get so penalized it might as well be over. Our one character death happened so damn fast I barely saw it coming. One minute the character was boldly defending our shugenja the next "I'm dead." Becomes a great give and take RPing a "fear nothing" samurai while as a player your sweating bullets knowing that the katana that kills you could be just a roll away. Its a great game! Have fun. And yeah I use my "geezer glasses" when I read the book. Where are the jitterbug phones of RPG books ? Oooh! No one steal that idea. As the hobby greys and ages I'll introduce D.T. Pints line of "easy to read large print" classic RPG books. You can mount them on your "rascal"!

Goddam Oncelers...
So what we need is a spiral-bound set of 4-6 super-thin 2-sided LCD screens that constantly update when flipped.
