Running a game set in the John Dies at the End by David Wong world at Fear the Con this summer. Think Jay and Silent Bob do Lovecraft. The game starts with them waking up in the aftermath of a house party with bled out bodies and unholy writing on the wall. (that's where the blood went)
That's as far as I got before I posted the game. I have a few dick gags that fits the setting. Like the myth of Rasputin's member.
Last night I thought the evil menace could be like the cats of Ulthar. That way I can have a black cat in every scene slowly becoming more numerous till there is this 'Oh Shit!' moment mid way through the game. Hopefully.
So! In additions to any thoughts or critisims, which I would love, what is the creepiest cat story you have heard or seen on TV? Or phallic set pieces..... Or puns about scary pussies and Rasputin's dick. Whatever make you happy.

Maybe the PCs could meet an undead (think more zombie than vampire) NPC for clues & the PCs go all "oh, you're dead?! we're so, so sorry..." and then the NPC responds with something like "are you kiddin' me? it's so cool dude! now i can..." How about the whole muse thing from Kevin Smith's Dogma movie? Or the PCs could visit an "ultra-mega-hardcore" black metal / industrial band to get some Info, just to find out that they're just a bunch of posers talking nothing but crap. Maybe check out "Odd Thomas", "The Last Lovecraft" & "The Convent" for inspiration.

Interesting! The undead idea reminded me of Idle Hands. Gonna try and checkout those suggested inspirations.
