So after my last game of the season opener for Season 2 of my SotC game my players explored Old Baghdad, rescued an old member, Abdullah Alhazred, and lost a powerful artifact, one of the mythical astras, to a new foe, The Shadow Society. Afterwards though I just didn't know what to do. I didn't have any hooks planned or what, so I polled my players and they said they wanted to go to space. I had planned to keep space far off, but decided, 'What the hell, they want it, lets try it' so I had a girl on a space ship(think old school ships that fly through the aether) to end up crashing in their backyard.
My plan/plot is this: The girl that crashed was Princess Sali-ya-tanna from the planet of Chronoda(Saturn, yes, Sally Saturn). Who is going to request their aid to help her get back to her planet and free it from the dark grasp of the Aion Cult. At this time the first fight would break out as Aion cult members attack their mansion. They'll need to find a new ship, and when they set sail their first stop would have to be Mars since its closest and the princess needs resources to help retake the planet. On the way there'll be a battle between them and some interspace pirates, and on Mars they may face off against some Martian Marauders. They'll end up going to Barsoom, a huge solar system wide bazaar full of the strangest of items. Some how they'll meet up with an old Martian seer who'll reveal what is going on. That the Aion cult has found Choronzon's time lock, which has moved Chronoda out of the time stream into its own little island away from all things. The only way past it is to find the thing which time can not stop, death. In fact, they'd need the Sail of Thanaton, which the legendary rulers of Mars keep on Olympus Mons in their city far into the unmapped lands.(Yep, the gods were aliens). This'll involve them traveling the Martian landscape, facing off against the strange flora and fauna of Mars, as well as the underground, Noctis Labryinthis, which will lead to the Plateau of Leng, the gate between regular Mars and the Mars that the Olympians live in. After they somehow get the sail and sail to Chronoda. I don't know what they'll face. But for the first half of an arc what do you guys think? Does this story of pulp space adventure sound fun?
