Heyya all,
<Lurk Mode Deactivated>
I have a fever, and the only prescription is more Traveller. I have ran several arcs for Traveller to completion in f2f games, but my playerbase has dried up somewhat lately. It happens, I suppose, when people have lives and jobs and kids, but I still have an itch which hopefully a Google Christ game will help with.
The game would be either weekly or biweekly as agreed upon. The playing times are limited to Tuesday night 7p-12a and Saturday afternoon 12p-8p (not that I expect a game session 8 hours long, just that I have an opening in the afternoon which is that length to run a game). I am looking for 4-5 players and experience in Traveller is not required as the system is quick to learn.
For most games I would also post a blurb for the story that I had in mind, but character generation fuels most of my creativity on that front so a firm storyline wouldn't be known to myself until after "Session 0: Character Gen". Instead, I will list a few inspirations so that you know the direction I am heading: David Weber (Honor Harrington series), C.S. Forester (Horatio Hornblower Series), Bernard Cornwell (Sharpe's Rifles). Actually, that sounds very militaristic know that I think about it. Let's add: Isaac Asimov (Foundation series for sociological purposes) and Andre Norton (Zero Stone books for their sense of 'Small fish in a big pond being chased by murderous bastards').
Any questions, feel free to ask. There may be some house rules, but I haven't made up my mind of those. I am partial to Tappy's Alt Character Gen rules but either way the terms will be capped at 5-6 to keep everyone reasonably in line as far as power curve. Last time I allowed an anagathic addicted octogenarian with ungodly skills, 3 ships, 200,000 credits, and president of the galaxy... well lets just say there were regrets...
