Hey all, (Hope this is cool, you guys seem pretty ok with sharing other podcasts) Want to hear what Australian accents actually sound like? My Buddy Luke and I have started a podcast called Let the Dice Flow, ( iTunes Link ) I have been listing to Happy Jacks for the last couple of years and its definitely inspired elements of our show. We don't have a strict RPG focus, we also talk Board Games, Card Games and Miniatures games and even a little on video games. We release weekly with a slightly different show every other week Every two weeks we get together with a couple of guests and talk about what we have played for the last 2 weeks, read emails and generally chat, that's the odd numbered episodes. We then play a game, with the goal being the game is something either us or our guests (or some combination there of) haven't played before. The Even Numbered episodes are us talking about the game we just played. We have a skeleton of a website here canberragamerscommunity.com/diceflow/You can subscribe to the rss feed canberragamerscommunity.com/diceflow/DiceFlow.xmlor we are on iTunes itunes.apple.com/au/podcast/let-the-dice-flow/id867463769?mt=2and we have an email address thediceflow@gmail.com twitter @thediceflow or facebook www.facebook.com/thediceflowand thus ends my shameless plug

Thanks! I'm enjoying this so far, nice format. Reminds me of Happy Jacks in how casual the hosts roll, and the side-convos that just happen. Only a few episodes in, but definitely subscribe worthy for me...
It helps your all aussie, cause I lived there for a while and I desperately miss the accent, so it makes me nostalgic. As a yank who's now returned to the US, let me tell you how much I've tried to convince people to make the language here just a little more efficient with "brollie", "mozzie", "arvo", and the like. So far, very little in the way of inroads, but you never know.

My understanding is the word fortnight isn't a thing over either

Fortnight is 2 weeks? That's OZ, Kiwi and Brit? Is it not used thus elsewhere? Aaron

I had heard that it wasn't a word in America and that they just say "every other week" instead of having a word for it.
In saying that I often hear things I think are true and then turns out they are not, and I usually blurt them out when we are recording our show.

I had heard that it wasn't a word in America and that they just say "every other week" instead of having a word for it. Moving from lift to elevator is one of the biggest chores... shit, a whole fortnight passes by the time I'm done saying that dozen-syllable word. At first I was so indoctrinated and lazy that I just kept saying "lift", but after a short bit you just look like an ass doing that.

Just listened to the post firefly episode. It's very quiet. In the car I had the volume up to Max, and still lost some bits through the tire noise.

Yeah its something we have been working on, I don't have Stu's skills or equipment, I'll tweak the levels on that episode a bit more and re upload it Thanks for the feedback
