Though I haven't finished this episode yet I did really want to start a thread for it. I love a good actual play and this is certainly one. Having a working url website What is Protection? for your players is a great idea especially for a modern conspiracy game. I will be stealing it for my Moment of Truth "A New Dark Age" game. (which as a side note could actually use a few more players-PM me if interested). It was great to hear one of the funniest guys in the community cadave actually play a serious character who had some bad shit happen to him (no spoilers). And then there's hoseirrob...really dude :/ ? Last episode you were a soulful voiced white guy "Dr. Funkenstein" and now you're a mexican gang banger "El Fumar" ? I do hope your character dies beautifully. The image of stork driving around in an antique seller's panel van came very easy to me for some reason...Anyway, just wanted to give this AP some love as I really like the system and its a fun a listen. Also surprising to me to hear that at a table full of GMs no one has used a Moment of Truth to change the narrative. I really think that ice just needs to get broken and encourage players to do it. bloodsparrow in my game used them for subtle changes in the game that really saved her character's ass. I'll be back. (after I finish it)

I have used (though not in that game yet) a MoT to change the narrative. In Stu's fantasy game I used one to save our bacon in the last fight. I have one in hand for the conspiracy game that I am just waiting for the opportune moment to use.

That's right I remember that! I just finished my first Deadlands con game and I found myself wishing Bennies (maybe the blue chips) could have a Moment of Truth ability. I just love that when I'm surrounded with really good, creative players that at any moment I might have narrative control yanked out of my hands and given over to one of the other loonies at the table. Really fun stuff.

I admit that Dr. Funkenstein was a bit of a throwaway concept, but he was fun to play once. Might have worked better in a silly spy campaign.
Not sure I see what the issue with El Fumar is. He is actually based on a lot of the people in the neighborhood I grew up in. The gang members had really odd takes on loyalty, respect, family, and their own insular society. I think that will be interesting to explore in an RP scenario. Are there times it is funny? Sure. I haven't had a listen yet, so not sure if it comes off as a caricature, but there can be a lot of depth to the character; assuming i have the chops to pull it off.

As to the MoT stuff. I have been conservative with it, but maybe there needs to be more chances taken.

Just wanted to let The Powers That May or May Not Be that I really enjoyed listening to this AP. I like the Sage of the Inukai as well, but for one reason or another this really drew me in. I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment!
