Okay... I wasn't able to listen/watch live at all this week and I was scrolling through YouTube when I saw a thumbnail featuring weird people and Stu. I was intrigued so I decided to click play for a moment and watched a it. I want to preface what I'm about to say with these two things:
1. I hate objectifying women in any way and I am very much a proponent of treating everyone equally.
2. I am a happily married man.
Those things being said... if Mally(sp?) was ever in my game I'd have to quit because I would never... ever be able to concentrate. That woman is downright stunning.

Hey SirG, even with your caveats it still feels a bit objectifyingy.
But it does allow me to reveal my first reaction, on waking up early enough to catch a bit of the show live:
"OMG Stork has shaved!?!!!"
Only for a split second though, ladies. And then I went back to sleep.
Listening to the Firefly discussion: Train Job WAS the first episode aired. It was a fast-tracked rewrite pilot episode. The actual pilot became the last two episodes aired. Talking of cussing in Chinese, the Train Job had an "alliance" logo combining PRC and US flags, I guess that was the only reference to why they cuss in Chinese.
The Cortex Plus Firefly game is excellent. And coming out in print very soon.
Also: Winsor CASTLE (which is a Palace) and BUCKINGHAM Palace. The rifles are SA80s. But they are unloaded.

Firefly is one of those odd creatures - like original Star Trek there's a 'verse of canon and very few actual episodes to reference. If one were to take the movie and the TV series one could shoehorn anything they wanted to in there, truthfully the writers would have done the same had it lasted 'on air'. As time goes on this very open 'verse is getting smaller and more constrained as fans and 'after the fact' products fill in the gaps. From an RPG perspective I find this worrying because were on to construct a firefly campaign (sourcing just the TV series and the movie) one just knows some fanboy will say 'you can't do that because according to canon . . . ' (causing a table flip with a resigned sigh because you concentrated on making a playable campaign rather than read all the internet fanfic). Disney solved this with the Star Wars franchise in a very brave and admirable move - expanded universe? Fine, but we're not sticking to it. A firefly campaign should be the same . . . Aaron

I saw the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. The unit relieving the black Q-tip unit rode horses and could barely walk when not mounted. Their uniforms were all black.

Re: the Game of Thrones discussion. I get the reactions. The story is mostly about Politics, and the moral seeming to be, "If you are a good person, you will fail. and Suffer in the process."
And I dig that.
Also Re: Tyrion, they cut almost all mentions of his first wife from the show, and that Upsets me most of all, because the actual revelation is such a huge character moment for Tyrion, Jamie, and Tywin.
All in all, I am one of many that game up on the books (though in truth i was listening to the unabridged book on tape at work, and it kept putting me to sleep), but I love the show. That all said, the show cuts so many amazing character things, and epic scenes from it. Like, TV Jon Snow, is pretty lame by comparison to the book version.

Likely the Blues and Royals, part of the Household Cavalry. I think it's not quite black, but a very, very VERY dark blue.

Royalists Aaron We tried republicanism, didn't like it. Try try and try again. Ollie Cromwell was a dick but the round heads were sound - especially the levellers Aaron

Cromwell served in his station till the end of his life and was buried with royal regalia and ceremony, complete with scepter and ball-thingy and then was succeeded by his son... I'm not sure you guys gave Republicanism an honest effort

I'm not sure you guys gave Republicanism an honest effort He also persecuted the levellers and other fellows who fought with him. So it's fair to say that it was Cromwell who did the republic a disservice - the title Cromwell the traitor was applied by both sides. Besides being a republic seems to have worked out ok for the USA - a former colony Aaron
