So My group is going to beta test the new rules and run it with rotating GMs. I'll write in when I see the rules. We record all our games now so maybe I'll hook up a link to one of our sessions.

Some time around April. I should probably find out if we are allowed to post stuff about it. Someone else in my group is setting it up.

So I missunderstood the kind fellow in my group when he started putting together a group for beta testing. We aren't actually in the beta yet. However when we eventually do get in I'll check back with some updates.

There is a play test already in the works for D&D Next. I'm a part of it and have been running a conversion of the Temple of Elemental Evil for it from the AD&D mod Gygax and Mentzer wrote.
I started on 2nd, played it until 3rd came out and played that till 4th and played that till now. I'm also really into some of the Indy games like Mouse Guard, Fiasco, Apocalypse World, Dread (The Jenga Game), Fate (Specifically Dresden), and a little Lady Blackbird.
The new version is pretty good so far. I can't talk about specifics but the game is really trying to support the three pillars of D&D they've been talking about. Roleplaying (Social interactions), Exploration (Dungeon Crawling and exploration of wondrous locations), and Combat (Which I have to say is pretty quick and easy to adjudicate) It's got some issues but we're only into playtest cycle 1.5 at the moment but there are some solid building blocks for a great D&D game which feels like 1st and 2nd edition with the good stuff from 3rd and 4th but like I said, it's early and things could change a lot.
