I don't have much in the way of specifically gaming related apps, but I recommend ezPDFReader for your gaming books. Google Drive is more than likely already on it- use it, it's super useful. I'd love to know if there are any decent gaming specific apps, too!

It all depends on what you're wanting to do. I have several OSR apps on there, a monster index, and a DM's reference. I've had fate dice rollers, GURPS dice rollers, oWoD dice rollers, and generic ones. I blieve there's a Savage Worlds character creator coming soon to Android as well.

EZpdfreader is my choice as well. Its fast without loading all the stuff necessary for other things, like Adobe's app tends to do. I ended up buying it because it worked so well. I'd suggest setting up a dropbox for your game PDF collections so that you do not have to fill the storage of the tablet with books you aren't currently using. If you have A LOT of pdfs, you might want to check out this thread and see if my promotion code still works: Copy 20 gigs storage freeI also use Evernote to unify all my tasks between my phone tablet and computer when it comes to creative projects.

There are a few Pathfinder apps if you play. Most of them link directly to the Pfsrd.

I've gotten some use out of Evernote with mine. It's also been an okay prop for passing around a table playing Mongoose Traveller accessing the traveller map site with it. It was also okay for looking through content I've already loaded into Obsidian Portal when wanting to look something up I've forgotten. Never got around to trying other apps.
To be honest though, I found I was comfier with a clipboard with some tabbed sheets I could flip through. Plus I could easily go pen, pencil, wet, or dry erase with it.

I found Foxit Reader to be the best PDF reader. The integation with Dropbox is particularly good.
The second best use of a tablet after reading PDFs is running games using them. For this I use OneNote. Design the campaign and scenarios on the full version and then sync with the tablet app to run them at the table.

Second on Evernote.
For dice roller apps, I use Prime Dice on my phone, which includes dice flips and FATE dice, and supports custom dice.

I consider Ever/One Note, a PDF reader, and Masterwork Tools (if you're playing Pathfinder) mandatory. However, Grid Cartographer Touch an ProDnD are both two little maptools that I've spent some time in and enjoy them both. Grid Cartographer is a simple lightweight map making tool. Really great when you're bored and want to just toss together a dungeon or building to use later. I tinker with it when it's other peoples turns during combat. ProDnD is a nice random map generator. It'll create a Cave, Dungeon, or a Maze. You can set some parameters and it'll randomly spit out a map based on what you specified. It's good in a pinch or as the seed that will grow into an actual dungeon. Here's an album I quickly randomly generated imgur.com/a/gvS3C

Just make sure you hide your android when any BladeRunners are nearby - they don't compensate for your loss after a mandatory 'retirement' Aaron

In addition to everything mentioned, I find a customizable soundboard to be super-cool for running games, at least (players probably won't get much utility). Throw on a bunch of MP3s, add buttons to the board, bam - press a button for crowd noises, thunder, waves crashing, arrows firing, combat sounds, cars crashing, whatever. (I use this one, it's free.)

One thing I really dig about Evernote is that I can have it on my phone, get an idea at work and jot it down, and it syncs to the tablet.

I also like EZpdfreader, but my other recommendation may shock people. That is to use Microsoft One Drive instead of Google Drive. I never have problems using it on any platform, Android, Mac, or Windows. I can't say that about Google Drive, and the amount of space they give for free is very generous.

There is something called ' Masterwork Tools ' that has pretty much the entire Pathfinder system. Its split by book/spells etc so its easy to use. There is another app by the same company that has the spells specified by class/level etc. etc.
Both are very useful if you playing pathfinder.
There is also the d20 SRD for 3.5 but that is not as rich due to the IP not allowing non SRD sources.
If you are into miniature wargaming then Battle Scribe has a decent list builder for many systems and its also free (there is a Pro version that is paid that has a few more features).
