I've been remiss in creating my session recaps for my GURPS horror game, I'm still on the recap of the second session and we just completed the 8th session. (I know, I'm a terrible GM)
My query is how detailed do you get with your recaps? Do you do a blow-by-blow or just an overview? Do you add in the things the players discovered, or leave that to their notes?
Just wondering because it's a rather daunting task for a very narrative game.

Eh, moderately detailed. I try to hit up the major events, anything particularly funny that happens, odd things acquired that might make a difference to the game (arctic cloak, magic items, etc.), and any extra awesome hits. Mine are mostly for my own use, and I'd probably include just the previous things if my players were going to read the recaps. I also include things NPCs are doing in the background (sometimes) while the PCs are doing their own thing - just so I can keep my timeline moving. link: Here's what I use. It's just an ongoing narrative labelled by session. I do a very rough draft of things to add during the game in a notebook and then type it all up right after the session so I don't loose track. I have a terrible memory. Feel free to look over it for things to include or to steal plot ideas.

My memory is annoyingly weak, so it's almost a necessity for me to use recaps or things simply get left by the wayside. My *cough* "style" isn't really prose/fanfic, but it's a little more than just bare notes. The first three campaigns listed here all have recaps, as does this wiki of my current game. Having it always available for players means fewer plot points and clues get lost.

I don't recap at all, but my players do. They take detailed notes while we play and they take them from their characters point of view. Before we start a session, everyone looks through their recent notes and gives us the highlights (from their character perspective). It's usually quite funny, and gets everyone back in character really quickly while reminding us of recent events (and let's me know what each player saw as important moments in their characters adventure).

I record games and then listen to them later so I can remember what happened. I find that during play I just don't have time to take good notes, and my memory is like a sieve some ... wait what were we talking about?
Cheers,

I like to record games too, but that's partly just because I enjoy listening to actual play recordings. Is this for the benefit of yourself, or the players? If the latter, I say let 'em take their own notes! I generally start each new session with a verbal recap of what happened last time, though. Sometimes I encourage a player to give the recap so I don't accidentally tip them off to what's important by mentioning it too prominently. Then when the player is done recapping, I can casually add anything that I want to be sure the group remembers for the session about to start.

I use a lot of images and photographs during our play sessions, and I want the players to be able to re-view them if they want to.

After a bit of a break between sessions, with no time or inclination to offer a full recap, I did this:
Previously on Firefly: Lonestar Trinity
"I suppose one gets used to the ... smell of cattle?"
"It's only a booking on a cruise-liner..." "That don't matter. If Withershins won't let me interview the Princess of the Rim, I'll write up you, Annie Foy, as the up-and-coming Star of Song."
"Whether or not she wants to marry the fellow, ain't no concern of mine, getting paid is."
"Hit the gas, now!"
"Looks like we've got a saboteur on board"
BANG "argh! Don't shoot me"
"Put ... the ... sword ... down"
"Meanwhile, Captain, you and your crew and enjoy everything as though you were (economy class) passengers, all on my dollar"
"Step into that Casino, Silver, and you're no longer on this crew"
"You've been good to me. I owe you Atherton, and one day, I'll pay you back"
"Please, come with me to the office Mr Silver, or should I say ... 'Blackjack'"
"First thing you gotta learn is how to feel the weight of the cards, blindfold"
"I meant what I said, Silver, you ain't coming aboard"
"Qù ní de"
"Well met, Traveller" k-chunk, k-chunk, k-chunk, k-chunk "welcome aboard the Hard Burn"
