Yo, I'm sitting at my desk right now, taking a mini lunch break, and wondering what you jackers do. I'm a data-dude at a weird niche tech company. Buuuuuut I'd like to either become a videogame designer, or a wilderness-adventure-travel writer/photographer person thing. Or Dr.Doom, I'd be ok with being Dr.Doom. What about you guys? Is anyone in the whole world happy with their job? Edit: For clarification on what a data-dude is, I spent the last 3 days going through a 2,000+ entry database (idk the real number, it only counts up to 2,000) and goin record-by-record to click a little checkbox, i know which checkboxes to click by comparing 6-digit codes. fun. . At least I get to listen to the podcast while I do it tho

I'm a Sr. Database Administrator at the world's largest law firm.
I'd rather be a carpenter or maybe a firefighter.

I left the culinary field to get my degree in computer science to support the game developing I do in my spare time. Recently I realized how much I'd rather just cook professionally, and am looking to move out west and see where I end up.

I'm a clinical nursing lead in social care and a psychology graduate (who can't afford to do his PhD and can't progress further in that direction without one - ie:teaching and research). However my current post will fund me doing an Adult Teaching Qualification which is a backdoor into psych research a funded PhD ( all part of a grand plan) But if I had a dream job? Winning the lotto . . . or running a bookstore, like Black Books Aaron

I'm taking my administrator certification test for our software platform on monday ^ The smiles for the pay raise, not cus it's fun. lol.

To be honest, I am pretty satisfied with my job managing the print shop and shipping/receiving departments of a local college. Not that it's my dream job by any stretch, but I make enough to be able to do most of the fun stuff I want to do.
My dream job would probably involve performing in some manner (singing, writing or acting), and that's a damn hard gig to get.

course developer for a software company, used to be an instructor for them. occasionally they have me teach the classes (to IT dudes), but mostly i work from home/coffee shops to make classroom or web-based training stuff.
i love it cause of the flexibility, the pay, and the technology changes enough so that i'm constantly learning stuff, but it'd be pretty hard to find someone to replace my skills cause i've been doing this stuff for a while and there would be a big ramp-up for someone new. also, i do what i do pretty well, or so my management believes. and it's not too intense so i can focus on playing games, hanging with family and friends, etc.
i worked culinary for a while, but it's too intense for me and the hours suck. i'm kinda burnt out on cooking, but still like some aspects.

I tried being a teacher for a while (I enjoyed the coaching part) and running my mom's business when she passed away after that. Finally I came around to being a police officer like I'd always wanted and I'm way more content with my job than I've ever been. I don't think I could do anything else now.

Can't wait to get a nice paying job and a finally a new car, broke down again today on a main road, took AAA 7 hours to get to me. On a main street in Lowell. The police showed up like 3 times, and also had my car towed to impound, before AAA got there. Not only did it suck waiting in the rain for like 3 hours, it also ruined the dnd sesh we had today, godamn AAA. Wierdest part to me was that the police were honestly much nicer and more polite than AAA and had my car towed in less than 1/5 of the time, they should look into actual towing service T___T /donerant

I operate a laser ablation tool for an OLED micro-display manufacturer. I'm now assuming, regardless of future evidence, that you are an Adeptus Mechanicus Engineer with a building sized super laser. Praise the Omnissiah!

I'm the technical director of a beautiful theatre in Kansas and trying to finish my dissertation so I can teach theatre design and performance theory.
I spend my days designing, building, and lighting shows. I miss teaching, but I'm having fun running my own carpentry shop and electrics shop.
We just opened a production of Mary Poppins. That show is a pain in the ass.

I am a SNOC administrator (Security & Network Operations Center) which means I get to route data to and from places all day and get paid handsomely for it. Dream job, though? I'm an actor - I've been performing on stage since '03 and would love to go professional. T.V., Movies, Broadway, London's West End, etc.

I do two completely unrelated things in my job at a mom and pop frame shop... I do all the photoshop work - restoring photos, touch ups, reformatting newspaper articles, and so forth. I also run a mitre saw building frames.
It's a great use of my degree in printmaking and art history.
What do I wish I could be doing? Illustrating a comic strip. If only I had time, I'd get started today.

Praise the Omnissiah! I've been trying to come up with a way to spice up my job title. I'm totally stealing that. We'll see if I can convince my bosses to call me that. ^.^
