Ahoy bastards! Just got done with a two scenario night of DESCENT: 2e. If you haven't played it I highly recommend checking it out. Its at face value a beautifully crafted versatile dungeon crawl board game with a through story. For 2-5 players with one player getting to run the monsters in as douchey a way as possible. You really are out for a TPK with this game, great GM training. Anyway we played with my FOUR year old nephew and while I say this kid is exceptionally bright and has a love of monsters and heroes he really enjoyed the games easy math and simple rules. I started the game as the paladin with the catch phrase "Tally Ho!" and soon we all had catch phrases and were talking in character. Worth checking out ladies and gents!

Descent is wonderful. If you like that, I also recommend "Mice and Mystics."

BOTH of those games are great and a very fun way to get people into the idea of role playing if its foreign to them.

I have something very similar, may be the same set, although my minions were red and yellow-cream color but that could just be the picture. I also loved the game as did all the friends who played, although we've only played it like 4 times, all more than a year or 2 ago. My one complaint with it was that the player models weren't standard 25mm size, so they look small next to normal 1" grid figures.
My favorite was the GMs trap/threat mechanic thing, so much fun! Loved turning random tiles into pitfalls, and whatever square they climb out onto is a rock-fall trap! MUAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!

If you enjoy Descent you should check out Shadows of Brimstone. Which is basically a Deadlands dungeon crawl board game.

It was available at GenCon, and it's at least listed on Amazon. Flying Frog are good people, so I doubt they're trying anything shady. Try sending a quick email to them through Kickstarter.
