Very tired but have to share. Ran a game of Faery's Tales RPG (which is awesome for children and I highly recommend it) with my godson, my son, a pair of twin nieces, and the twins' dad. All the kids were nine.
Godson we started calling Murder Hobo early on because he wanted to go up the beanstalk and instead of resuing Jack just kill him, solving any reason to rescue Jack. My son followed along until the murder hobo got too murderous and then said "Yeah, I'm not with him anymore"
The nieces were a bit quiet but their dad (who never played any RPG before) helped guide them along since they were the ones actually trying to solve problems. The dad at one point was bemused at being a floating black bear thanks to his daughters.
They rescued Jack and stopped the Giant. All in all, the kids had fun. Murder Hobo wants to play again though I think I am going to steer him to a more combat oriented game. Four kids and three had never done anything like that before.
Good times...

This sounds great! Where can I find more information about Faery's Tales?
