New Hindrances for Savage Worlds
Nerd (Major)
Years of obsessive academic study have heavily reduced your scholar’s overall physical ability, her Pace is reduced by a total modifier of -1, she receives a -1 penalty to her Strength and Vigor die types to a minimum of 1d4 and cannot raise her strength and vigor dice thereafter; but her years of study grant her 5 extra skill points for spending on any skill linked to Smarts. Note that the nerd hindrance is a reskin of the elderly hindrance intended for simulating the physically inept nerd
Timid (Minor)
Your character is extremely shy and passive, maybe submissive, while defending herself is within reason for her to do, her timid nature leaves her very easy to push around, giving her a -2 penalty to opposed rolls rolled to resist taunting and intimidation checks made against her in a test of wills. A timid character cannot also have the strong willed edge
Mute (Major)
Your character has no voice, she cannot verbally communicate with others. Because of this, she automatically fails any skill rolls that require speech unless she is using a form of alternative communication appropriate to the setting. Blackboards and chalk are a cheap substitute. Mute is a counterpart to Deaf for other characters.
Clumsy(Major)
Your character takes a -2 penalty to her agility attribute rolls and generally falls prone in a compromising angle when she fails an agility roll. A character cannot have both the acrobat edge and the clumsy hindrance. Smart or cautious clumsy characters will often either wear skirts less often or wear something beneath their skirt to mitigate the embarrassing view of London and France. Clumsy is a reversing of acrobat.
Scrawny (Major)
Your character is of an extremely scrawny and underdeveloped frame, she can only carry an amount of weight equal to 3 times her strength in pounds instead of 5 times her strength in pounds, a character with the scrawny hindrance cannot also take the brawny edge.
New Race; Nymphs
Lithe framed (-3), a Nymph requires 2 attribute points to increase her strength at character creation and for every time she wishes to raise her strength in actual play, she must dedicate 2 advances to raising her strength. nymphs are built like elves or half elves of the equivalent human age range of 12 to 14 years. they average a little over 5 feet with an average weight ranging from 80-120 lbs. because of this, building strength is quite difficult for them,
Low Light Vision (+1); a Nymph’s Eyes amplify light in a manner similar to an Elf’s, they reduce the penalties for bad lighting by 2 to a minimum penalty of 0. this allows a nymph to see just fine in dim light and darkness, but with a penalty in pitch darkness.
Advanced Education (+2) ; a nymph is from a highly advanced and educated culture, typically far beyond that of her wilderness dwelling elven cousins, because a nymph has grown up relatively close to human society and has been shaped by human influence, a nymph starts with a free d6 in smarts instead of a d4. nymphs are highly advanced compared to their forest dwelling elven cousins and generally see the elves of the forest as uncivilized and primitive because unlike them, they haven’t embraced the innovations that could save their kin. many nymphs become alchemists, engineers and wizards who use their talents to advance their quality of life.
Adorable Muse (+2), many nymphs live an inspiring life as muses, and a great amount are quite adept at exploiting their youthful charm and catering to temptation, because of their cute, delicate features combined with their sweet and amiable personality, a nymph recieves the attractive edge as a bonus edge, effectively increasing her charisma by 2. it is believed that many nymphs exploit their youthful charm for personal gain.
