Anyone around who have played in the Dead Presidents games? I'm curious about what power level they were run at.

like Any Savage Setting: the power level of the Players is whatever the GM wants it to be.
if you as GM want to Start your players as 0XP characters with nothing but the clothes on their back and a Rusty knife that deals Strength +1 Damage. you can.
if you want to Start them as 200 XP Special Snowflakes with Power Armor, Lightsabers and Cosmic Level Superpowers, you can also do that too.
or anything in between as well.

The reason I ask is I have never before done anything supers related, at all, in any game system. So, since I have heard a bit about what that game have been about I am curious about how much of that was reflected in the power points involved in the game. This would be just a comparison point.

depends on how powerful the supers your want your players to be are and whether or not you wish to use Rising Stars.
are you Looking For Spiderman, Cyclops, Rocket Racoon and Star Lord?
or are you looking for Phoenix, Deadpool, Storm, and Scarlet Witch?
or are you Looking for Adam Warlock, Silver Surfer, the Hulk, and Thor?

I played in a Dead Presidents con game years ago, it was run in Wild Talents if I remember correctly. Power level wise I would equate it with Mid veteran for a Savage World's one shot.
If you are looking to play a campaign or serial then I wouldn't go too far beyond Seasoned. Seasoned gives the players access to a greater range of abilities and room to grow. If you start too powerful then it can get boring for a group.

But I had no idea what power level that equated in the game system. Now I have an idea, since that power level seemed sensible for what I'd like to do.

if you are GM, you have free reign to Assign a power level you prefer. you needn't feel bound by the power level of the setting or the power level of the players. if you want get your feet wet into the superpowers companion, i recommend either pulp or street level supers. street level supers are probably the fun and not ridiculous ones.
4 color and higher get pretty grandiose in scale and probably cause the system to collapse. i personally recommend Superpowers companion version 2, though one of the big things with superheroes, is it tends to be quite a kitchen sink. you might want to limit the available powers if there are some you don't understand.
it would be good to communicate the type of power level you want to your players. examples could go a long way to helping you. it would also be a good idea to discuss with your players, what character types you don't want to see. some character types might not fit the type of campaign you are going for. as an example, a Superhero with lots of Futuristic Alien Gadgets like Starlord might not be a good fit in a campaign where extra terrestrials are the bad guy or in an earth that hasn't yet had alien activity. at the same time, a Character with extreme levels of power like Superman or Adam Warlock, would be too powerful for a smaller scope and would have many abilities that ruin the story. at the same time, a Character like Plastic Man or Aquaman might be too underpowered to keep up in a campaign tailored around epic threats. so you might want to start things 3 hours early to discuss things.
